_{two weeks had passed, and sam had immersed as much into cover as he possibly could. knowing dean and bobby, he tried not to stick his neck out more than he needed to, only taking care of milk runs for cases instead of going for the long cons, just in the interest of avoiding any other hunters who might’ve potentially been looking for him. he could handle any trouble that came his way, but the grounds of this deceit were too shaky for him to stand comfortably on. after all, he didn’t even get a word from his friendly neighborhood demon. not until two weeks later, when he was just fixing to hit the road.}

_{putting away his things, he was just about to zip everything up until he suddenly felt the other’s presence. however, upon drawing his gun and aiming it in ky’lar’s direction, the man almost immediately relaxed… at least, a little bit. when the demon went on to confirm that he had, in fact, obtained the soul, he narrowed his gaze a bit before insisting,} 

❝ show me.  ❞

_{he should have expected the gun pointed at him, but instead, he was taken just slightly off guard by the action. true, sam was a hunter — a soulless one even —- and he thought that they had a slight understanding. well, at least an understanding that ky’lar always went through with his deals. not that it mattered too much anymore; being gone for two weeks was simply a way to keep the horseman off his trail.}

_{if given the opportunity, he would have done the exact same thing again, but maybe next time just slightly longer. that way, he would have been sure no one else was picking up his sent, but then again, that would have taken far more motivation than he currently had.} 

_{either way, the demon pulled out a small container from his jacket pocket with a grunt, ❝ as promised, your soul is now in my rightful hands, and i’m quite certain no one will attempt to take it from me.❞ even if they tried, they wouldn’t get far, but then again, he doubted anyone would do that… at least anytime soon.}
