_{the one thing she can give him credit for is that he’s always been straight with her. he hasn’t hidden the worst parts of himself, or used her to achieve his own agendas to the best of her knowledge and that’s more than she could say for most. while she wouldn’t declare that she trusts him, he doesn’t make her as suspicious. maybe they’re on borrowed time but so what? they can still make the best of it. there’s no rule that says he has to leave things on bad terms with her, right? ❝I’m alright with that — it might come as a surprise to you but I like having you around.❞} 

she might have enjoyed his presence, but he was being blunt. eventually, he would leave, and wouldn’t come back. it was easier for him that way : cutting off all ties before someone could get too attached. he hated it, hated that he had to run away  each time he managed to get comfortable around another, but then again, the demon wouldn’t have had it any other way, 

❝ i highly doubt that, but for now, i’ll stay. you can count on it.❞
