“When you have a price over your head, things change.”

                           The demoness was never much for helping people to begin with, but she really didn’t feel like getting herself into trouble with more people. She had enough to worry about, after all. However, she would listen. Then decide whether she felt like helping or not. She crossed her arms over her chest, cocking a hip to the side.

              “Give me a name and I’ll consider it.”

                   while her words were quite true, he honestly doubted that she would do anything; with a price on someone’s head, things were different, and putting their neck out on the line for someone else could complicate matters. a reason to why there was part of him that didn’t want to say anything else.

            that way, he wouldn’t inconvenience her any more that was needed, and maybe he could find a way to fix this situation himself. it was doubtful, but all the same, he already could tell that no matter what he said, he wouldn’t get closer toward his goal —- at least quickly.

           ❝ it’s a bit more complicated than that. ❞

            he bit his lower lip for a few moments : just long enough to strike blood as he moved to speak again.
