There were people in this world who were cruel, there were people who would do what they could to protect themselves. Selfishness has been on the rise since the dead started making an appearance. Rick couldn’t fully blame people, for him he did what he could to protect who he loved. He would kill, he would fight, more or less he would do anything it took. Keeping his people safe was his top priority in this world.

For others it was similar but they were trying to keep themselves safe rather than others. Cruel things happened, like his example of being chained to a tree and left for dead. Of course he had no idea why the man was treated this way, for all he knew he deserved it. 

“I understand your caution” It was a simple reply, “But being alone is far too dangerous now, well alone all the time that is. Sometimes I like to go on runs alone, but sometimes having someone watch your back makes it a lot safer.”

^{While it was quite true that being alone was dangerous, that didn’t mean that Ky’lar was willing to admit that point. If it was one thing he knew best, it was that looking over your shoulder all the time for someone was taxing, and not to mention it was dangerous these days.}

After the last incident, it wasn’t worth attempting to find a group, and he knew how most acted to newer people — they were suspicious or even dangerous to them. Thus, he kept alone, and so far, it had managed to keep him alive.}

❝ Agreed. ‘Specially these days —- walkers have been out in force and they don’t seem to be thinning much. ❞ Not that Ky could personally complain, he might have been keeping tabs on them, but actually thinning the population wasn’t his strong suit,
