Hello everyone! Just as I did in 2015 and 2016, roleplaypositivityy will be hosting another Secret Santa event this December!

The concept:

Everyone is assigned another roleplayer to write positivity about. As long as there is someone signed up that fits the bill, I try to make sure everyone writes for and receives from someone they RP with or who is at least in the same fandom as them. Each week has a different theme, and you will both receive and send one shoutout per week. You will send in a total of five shoutouts about your assigned person, and receive five from your secret santa. At the end of the month, it is revealed who wrote about who! Overall, for the last two years it was a lot of fun and got a lot of positive feedback as an event, so I’m doing another one this year!

The rules:

• Independent RP blogs only! OCs, canon, fandom, etc. doesn’t matter, but you must be an indie RP blog.
• You do not need to be following me (roleplaypositivityy). It would be nice, though 🙂
• You must be able to commit to sending all five shoutouts in about your assigned person. There will be weekly due dates when you need to have that week’s shoutout in by. If both of the first two shoutouts are late, I may have to remove you from the Secret Santa, because I need time to queue up the shoutouts.
• Of course, positivity only! This isn’t really the place for criticism, even constructive criticism. It’s the holidays!
• Please refer to my rules page for additional rules on shoutouts.
• YOU MUST SEND THE SHOUTOUTS TO MY BLOG. Do not send the shoutout directly to the person. I moderate this event and make sure that everyone gets and sends the amount of shoutouts they are supposed to.
• Please read through the entirety of this post before you sign up. If you have questions after you sign up, please check this post to see if it is answered here before coming to me to ask–most of the information you need should be here. Thanks!
• Try to get as many of your RPer friends to enter as you can, to make sure you get someone you know to write about and to write about you!
• Don’t tell the person you’re writing that you’re their secret santa–that ruins the fun!
• You may enter on as many sideblogs as you want, but you will be expected to send positivity from each one, so don’t sign up with multiple accounts if you aren’t prepared for that!

How it Works:

Shoutouts this year will be due on the Friday of each week. You can send in shoutouts as far before the due date as you want (i.e., if you felt like it you could send them all in at once at the beginning of the event–I don’t mind.) On the due date, they must be sent before 8PM EST. If you think you won’t be able to get in a shoutout on time, let me know beforehand–I am very flexible and we can work something out, as long as you let me know ahead of time!

When you submit a shoutout, please do so in this format:

“Secret Santa shoutout for (INSERT USERNAME), (INSERT THE WEEK NUMBER): Here is the content of your shoutout. Please write more than a sentence–what you write will probably mean a lot to the recipient, so put some effort into it!”

This year’s themes and due dates:

• DUE NOVEMBER 24TH: Comments about the person’s muse/development/characterization. Will be posted Nov. 27 – December 3rd
• DUE DECEMBER 1ST: Comments on the person’s writing. Will be posted December 4th – 10th
• DUE DECEMBER 8TH: Comments on the mun’s personality (if you haven’t written with/met the person before, I will have a post to help you think of something during this week!). Will be posted December 11 – 17th
• DUE DECEMBER 16TH: List 5 things you like about your recipient that you haven’t mentioned in the past 3 weeks. Will be posted December 18th – 24th
• ALSO DUE DECEMBER 16TH: General positivity. All of these will be posted on Christmas day, so remember to wish your recipient a happy holidays!
• Who wrote messages for who will be revealed between December 26th and New Year’s Day.

That’s it! EVERYONE who reblogs and fills out the form will be entered, and entries close November 19th. On that day, you will get a confirmation message from me to make sure you’re in and to tell you who you’re writing for–please respond within 48 hours or you will be removed! Remember that your first shoutouts are due November 25th.
