🔪 (from caleb)

He wanted to say that this wasn’t expected. That his prized pet wouldn’t actually turn on him, but that wasn’t reality. They were always at each other’s throats and it was only a matter of time before this happened.

Ky was fooling with an old book, one that he had stolen for his own amusement, and he wouldn’t let Caleb even touch it. Not that the Demon cared about that the other did – as long as it didn’t mess with his plans – too much, but at the same time, this was important.

So important that he was willing to make sure that the book didn’t fall into the hands of anyone besides himself. A reason it had been under lock and key — until Ky decided to give it another look over.

One thing lead to another and soon enough he found himself with an old blade stuck right in his left shoulder. It should have known leaving out things would cause Caleb to eventually strike at him and it was another reason he was going to use the chains again when he got the chance.

“You should learn to stop while you’re ahead, Caleb.” His words came out far more calmer than he expected, but not with-out his own version of malice, “You won’t live to do this again.”
