“And what beef would Hell have with you if you’re up here making deals, gathering souls?” Crossroads demons were a tough thing. Most people had to know what it meant to make a deal with a demon or dark entity, whatever they thought it was. All it took was common sense, even if it wasn’t spelled outright for them. Some people made selfish deals, others out of pure desperation for someone they cared about. It was hard to sort through that mess, which was why Sidney typically strayed away.

“the thing about hell is it’s complicated.” far more than he would let on in reality, “you spend so long down there and sometimes you slip up.” or, in his case, tried to take it over, and attempted to kill several high ranking members. either way, it was bad; so bad to the point he didn’t want to go back until the time was right.”i’m safe up here, but down there? not so much. no one is.”
