fryordie:

Muttering a silent curse that took the All-Father’s name in vain, Thor felt compelled to flinch on Ky’s behalf. Had they been visiting any other realm, even Vanaheim for that matter, leaving the deceased to the mercy of nature would not have been an unusual sight. But this was Midgard– Earth– a realm for which men would cower at the merest flicker of questionable shadow, let alone the sight of a mutilated corpse.

“As it happens, I do. Now, stand back.” Moving past Ky, he indicates to the other to keep his distance, retrieving a short sword from a sheath on his belt as he did so. Setting off on a path heading directly for the fallen, Thor twirls the blade in his grasp until its flat side lies parallel to the underside of his arm, awaiting use.

The thought he had in mind was straight forward; fry the corpse to disguise the worst of the savage murder committed. In order to see this done, the thunderer called upon the wellspring of his strength, his good eye turning completely white as a crackling noise floods his ears. Soon, blue arcs of electricity are seen skirting across his back and coiling around his arms, including the short sword.

Channelling the fury of the storm, he pulls back the arm holding the sword, and chucks it, a metal projectile imbued with enough joules of every to fell any mortal ten times over. But that was only the beginning, for as the blade pierced the corpse, a great bolt of lightning struck it, summoned from clouds that sat in what was almost a clear sky a handful of minutes ago.

Taking care not to obliterate the corpse completely, Thor  tries not to disturb the remains as he goes to retrieve his weapon, dispelling his summoned power.

“We are done here, Ky’lar, the matter is dealt with. Do not make this a habit.”

ky made sure to take quite a few steps back from the other. if he was going to help, the demon was going to make sure the he was as far away as possible. after-all, he didn’t think thor would go back on his word, but for safety’s sake… he wanted to keep himself away from the brunt of it.

he had heard of the god of thunder’s powers before, but never thought he would see them in person. more to the point, there was part of him that didn’t think he’d ever want to, but the funny thing about it was that deep down he knew he would.

if anything, even as ky watched the other work, he knew fully well they were not friends. he wouldn’t even consider them to be that on the best of days. no, for the time being, thor wasn’t his enemy, and that was all that mattered.

a reason to why the demon was so relaxed around the other for the time being. arms folded calmly across his chest as he made sure to notice every detail of what the god of thunder was doing. no, this was a good plan, but the reasons as to why thor was actually doing it escaped him.

he could have asked, but he didn’t quite well care. his little… problem had been taken care of and now they could move on. of course, if it had been up to him, the frying of the body wouldn’t have been needed, but still… it was fascinating to see the other work.

“who said i would be making it a habit?” even if he made it one… there was doubt thor could stop him. well, he could have easily, but ky doubted it would have gotten that far. “’sides, i don’t plan on this happening again for a very long while.” not if he could help it at least.
