Iron coated bullets now loaded into the weapon, he keeps himself at a comfortable distance of about two hundred and fifty yards out. A grin tugs at his lips as Ky’lar falls into his line of sight. While this wouldn’t be nearly as satisfying as gutting him with a blade, it would be immensely satisfying to watch his body drop so easily.

Besides, this wasn’t meant to be a death sentence. Just a friendly warning to the demon. The rest would come later. For now, he lets out a soft exhale and squeezes the trigger.

it was highly unusual for ky to have an actual good day. especially when things hadn’t been awful for the last few weeks. trying to stay out of trouble for eve was harder than he thought – before, he could go a few days to weeks with out doing anything harmful, but now? it was harder than he expected.

a reason to why he was hoping to relax with a simple beer before going back to his usual deals. that way, maybe he could focus on what he did well, and not on trying to avoid trouble — even if it followed him everywhere like a plague.

three…..
two….
one…
bang!

that was when everything changed. when the warning shot was just too big of a ‘warning’. the demon despised guns – not just due to the fact they were loud, but rather, they were unnecessary.

falling to his knee’s as he slammed into the ground with a large thump wasn’t the worst of it. nor was the ringing in his ears that he couldn’t get to stop. it was the blood. his own blood that came from the gushing wound in his chest.

if he was human, this would have most surely been lethal, but it still hurt. more to the point, it hurt like a bitch, and he expected another shot to come from somewhere else or even a hunter to appear from the shadows.

it had happened before, someone got onto him, and tracked him down. they knew hand to hand combat was out of the picture. so, they went with guns, and usually they didn’t last long.

however, this time around was different. it felt different at least. like this wasn’t the worst of it, but rather a warning of what was to come.
a warning that meant that he wasn’t safe.
it wouldn’t matter who or where he was.
he never would be safe.
not as long as someone was out for his head.

gripping his the wound, he focused on his breathing, and would deal with the pain later. in the state he was in, a human would passing out due to blood loss or dead.

good thing he wasn’t human, but that still didn’t mean he was out of the clear.
deep breath in.
deep breath out.
in..
out..

     “ i’ll have to deal-”
his words were cut off as he ended up crumbling to the ground. he could take it sure, but the body – no, the vessel, he couldn’t. thus, the body did what it could in the situation it was in.

it shut down.

as for how long, even ky didn’t know, but he would make it out of this. it just would take time, and hopefully whoever shot him didn’t come back to finish the job.

for once, ky’lar really didn’t want to die.
