Adam didn’t find his words funny. Another time, another place, he might of, but not today. He let out a low breath and crossed his arms over his chest. He wasn’t too keen on getting well acquainted with how Hell operated. He had tried to stay pretty clear of Heaven when he was human and history had a habit of repeating itself. His eyes narrowed at the mention of ‘respect.’
He also didn’t want to start making any enemies either.
“Give a little, get a little. So that shouldn’t be too much of a problem.”
“Perhaps.” A simple word, nothing more, and nothing less. In another time, maybe Ky would have been decent, but he wasn’t in the mood to be. No, he learned that the best way to gain respect – in hell – was to be brutal. It didn’t matter how kind you were or even if if you had a trace of mercy. Demons would use it against other demons. A reason to why he always had to keep on his toes around anyone from hell – especially Demons. “Only time can tell.”
