there was a list in his head that repeated itself over and over again. the second he broke away — FLEEING from the likes of HYDRA and everything else that he’d done in their name he’d longed to know who he was supposed to be, and also ( but this was a slightly more dangerous path to go down ) why.
one of the names on the list that remained ingrained in the back of his head was one he wouldn’t have otherwise recognized, some were sensical, doctor stephen strange, tony stark, carol danvers, all of those as threats to HYDRA and their incredibly detrimental desires, this was a man he wasn’t sure of. though, it was painful to think that he needed to seek out the reasoning for hydra’s menacing decisions, no. in fact it was only adding more insult to INJURY.
still —- he tracked him nonetheless. it wasn’t that hard to do, a trail of bodies left in his wake and done so in a means that made him easy to track by one with a mind that worked…. fairly similar, but far more indulging in subtlety. the path led him to a questionable motel, the kind he’d passed by on several occasions whether it be to stage the deaths of those on HYDRA’s hit list, or something else, but still, he recognized the type well and it was from the shadows that he sat in wait, rifle pointed and prepared.
❛ —– your name came up on a list, and i want to know WHY.❜
the why was complicated; not even he could properly say it. he used cash, made sure not to leave a trail, and yet he still was found. still was…known. maybe he should have tried harder to hide from whoever could possibly be after him.
resorting to violent measures wasn’t what he wanted, but they would suffice. one way to get to the bottom of things was to ensure a stances was made. it may not have been the best of idea’s, but quite honestly? he was getting past the point of caring about his actions – at least in this instance.
❛ what list? ❜ he didn’t even attempt to answer the question. instead, he shifted to asking a question; not a violent reaction, but in his own way, it was. a denial of what the other wanted – a clear answer – could sometimes be determined as violence in his experience.
