Nick snorted a brief laugh, glancing up at Ky’lar. The man was pretty, had that going for him. But Nick had experience in this arena. Knew it was almost always a waste of effort.

“Spoiler: they won’t. Even if things go well, you’ll trip at the finish line. Or someone on your team will decide that the final stage of your master plan is the perfect time to stage a coup. Most villains are just unreliable, from the start.“

“The same could be said about most heroes.” Of course, Ky tried to keep interactions with most people to a minimum. There was  always a tendency to kill them if they got under his skin. Not to mention throw them to the ‘wolves’ if things started to go south.

“When something doesn’t go to plan they start in-fighting and then all hell breaks lose.” Not to mention the damage they caused, but quite honestly… that was besides the point. “It doesn’t matter their titles… people are always going to do what they want.”

No! That’s the exact opposite of what I want.” Bobby called out, blasting the sides of buildings into a slick sheet of glassy ice. “I should be doing something more appropriate for an X-Man, and not doing the job of people who get paid to do this.”

“Don’t tell me you lit this fires – I would hate to have to ice over such a handsome stranger.”

“You don’t get paid to be an X-man?” Ky couldn’t help, but roll his eyes at his own statement.  “Such a shame – you should be doing greater things than cleaning up fires.” As for what? He didn’t know, but he  figured something more than cleaning after one simple fire.

“You’d really ice me over?” He asked sarcastically. “I thought we were great friends!”
