“I’m busy,“ Nick replied without looking up. He poured himself another drink, letting a fair bit of bourbon spill before being done filling the glass. “Got all kind’s a shit goin’ on, can’t you see?“
“Everyone’s always busy or not interested.” There was a full out roll of his eyes. “So, I guess i’ll try someone else – unless you have any potential recommendations.” Even if this specific individual didn’t work out… he had other options. Several other options… just getting that desperate was something he dreaded.
❝ demons have underestimated me before. i’d suggest you don’t repeat their mistakes, but i guess it’s your life and you can do what you want with it. ❞ apparently the tag on her for everyone to think that she could be used to hurt sam wasn’t something that could be ripped off. no matter how she pulled through, time and time again. of course, this wasn’t limited just to her, but there wasn’t anyone else apart from his brother that most people would rank up there quite as important as she was. ❝ at least tone down the attitude a little bit. ❞
“luckily for you… i’m not a demon.” at least that was what he believed and told himself today. that way, maybe he’d be able to get close to her, and learn what she did. not that he’d get far – he knew that from the start, but he needed to find some sort of connection he could build upon. “and don’t worry – my attitude is the only part of me people enjoy. we’ll get along just great.”
“doubtful. people die all the time; the change may come suddenly, but eventually things go back to normal.” or a new normal at least. “humans die – the sooner you come to accept that… the better off you’ll be.”
“Just take a shower.” He let a deep sigh escape his lips. “Or i’ll make you take one.”
Would this guy ever quit? Brock doubts he would, and almost considers sighing in resignation as a result. “An agreement? Fine, here’s one for ya; how about you leave me the hell alone, and go about your business bothering some other poor schmuck, okay?” Eyebrows raising as he spoke, he makes no effort to hide the sarcastic lilt to his words, a natural edition for him to make after running afoul of some pesky nuisance he struggled to shake off. “Now, show me that you can listen, and scam.”
He had thought giving Eddie offers would have helped his case and maybe would have brought him a step closer towards what he wanted. He thought that with a little more pressure (than he already gave) he could have everything lined up, but it seemed like he over reached. So, he had to try another method – one that was just a bit more painful over-all. “Or,” he said, taking a step forward. “I can make sure you listen – the choice is up to you, but do be quick about it. I’m not a patient man.”
❝ there is only so many things a person can take in their life time. people, be you alliance, horde, or otherwise develop small cracks. they can be exploited, sure, but sometimes that crack becomes a wedge so large nothing can ever repair. this world – azeroth- is ours. you can fight for it sure, but it’s going to tear itself apart one way or another. so, might as well enjoy the fun while it lasts, and try not to get killed in the process.❞
