❛ That’s cute, but I’m gonna have to decline. ❜ So much for first warnings. Why couldn’t life be easier where people were more coherent and actually listened to you? While they may be right about him not exactly wanting to be here, that didn’t mean he shouldn’t be. A stream of webbing attaches to their shoulder from the base of Kaine’s wrist, beginning to pull them into melee range. ❛ So I’m going to make this quick for BOTH our sake’s. Fist, meet face. ❜
Of course they’d decline such a wholesome offer. It wasn’t every day he opted to resort to non-violence and now that option was denied in expert fashion. Oh well – Ky would deal with this little problem, and then shift his attention to his original plan later on. ❛ Such a pity and here I thought we were getting along, ❜ he mused out as he was yanked forward. ❛ Now, are you going to just TALK or day or are we going to FIGHT? ❜
“they’ve been just as destructive with leaders. maybe if they get someone that doesn’t have their head up their ass like michael in charge they might stand a chance to not be more destructive than humanity.”
of course, she doubted any of her siblings were truly up to the task. so many of them had become corrupt with free will, while others still blindly followed whatever anyone told them. but, she supposed that she was just as guilty at becoming corrupt in a way that truly mattered at one time or another. “ready to attack anything that sticks up its nose at the newest plan they’ve been duped into.”
“angels are worse than demons; they’re destructive and follow a singular order. they’d destroy all of humanity if it meant pleasing whoever lead them.” he was about to say god, but he didn’t even believe he existed – maybe at one point the being did, but not now.
“if they could be… controlled, it would benefit everyone.” what he implied was close to enslavement in reality, but ky didn’t care – not really at least. if it meant ridding himself – or, rather, demons of a problem? so be it.in his mind… it was completely worth it.
“sounds even better. get a good vantage point after that and we may be able to trim the hunter population a tiny bit after that.”
“well, anything is possible given the right tools,” he mused. “i’d say trim the hunter population majorly – maybe even take a few thousand souls while we’re at it.”
❛ obviously not. ❜ the shield huffs, turning her head to the side. what kind of half assed information was this ? valerie’s gaze intensified, the curiosity similiar to the one she had while getting to know the world for the first time. ❛ where are you from ? ❜
❛ do you want the truth or do you want the answer i’ll give you? ❜ the question was asked out of pure amusement, but then he shifted right back to his usual tone. ❛ i could give you the answer of two people had sex or… do you want to know exactly where? ❜
“would it matter if i was?” a simple question; one meant more out of pure curiosity than anything else for the moment. “sanity is something many have attempted to grasp, but rarely obtain for long.”
“yeah? it’s not me that i need to get over.” of course, he was feeling sorry for himself. but he felt awful for everyone involved and couldn’t get away from thoughts of sam and jess, two people that had been of utmost importance to him in his brief time at stanford. he wanted to forget and he wanted to move on, but living this shitty normal life in the shadows didn’t seem worth it. honestly, he wished he had only met his tragic end and that had been it. “monsters are hard to get away from once you know about ‘em.”
“not really,” he said, taking a step forward. “monsters can be forgotten about the moment you chose to move on. sometimes it’s harder than others, but in all honesty? not overly difficult.” maybe it was, but ky didn’t see it that way – then again, he didn’t quite care either. “you just have to realize what you want or… don’t want rather.”
He gives the other all the time that he needs to prepare and then explain the nature of his call for assistance. It also allowed Thor to form his own assumptions based on how they had conducted business in the past. The man was never known to stop by for a friendly chat, and so he found that whenever and wherever Ky showed his face, some new and near impossible task to achieve laid in his future.
A heavy sigh escapes him as Thor’s deep blue gaze bears down upon Ky’lar, glinting brightly beneath the winged helm he once more wore proudly. “When is there an occasion where thoughts concerning thine relatives crowd not that conflicted mind of yours?” He’d almost venture to say it was an unhealthy exercise, had he not already known what his family was like.
In fact, he found it impressive that he was still capable of forging his own path, given the pressures and expectations that were frequently piled upon him.
“Regardless, what is it this time?”
His family was always on his mind or at least in the back of it. Ky couldn’t go a week with-out either his father or grandfather interfering. Once, he was able to go a month, but then he was dragged back home quite forcefully afterwards.
Now, Ky was asking Thor – the one person he wanted to avoid – for help. It was a strange turn of events, but not entirely unexpected. “My relatives seem to believe they know what is best for me.” It wasn’t the best way of putting things, but not the worst either. Elaborating was needed, but he wasn’t about to tell Thor the entire truth. No, he’d get to that later.
“Unfortunately, I disagree with their methods,” he let a deep sigh escape his lips. “ What I need form you is a way…” he trailed off with a cough. “What I need,” he said again, repeating himself. “ Is a way to prevent being dragged back to my Grandfather’s realm.”
feint magics tickled the back of his mind — whispers of distrust weaving through his thoughts as he listened to the other man speak aloud his.. alias. he would not mention the fact that he did not fully believe his white lie — but he wasn’t truly all that interested in knowing his true name, at least not at this point as it did not matter.
“ it’s a pleasure to meet you, james.. ” he quirked an eyebrow, tilting his head to the side ever so slightly as he paused. “ i apologize in advance for appearing a bit.. melancholy, it’s merely been that sort of day, so far. ”
“those sort of day’s happen far too often to count.” ky knew that first hand. if it wasn’t one thing… it was another. the harsh part about reality was something would always go wrong regardless of where he personally stood on the matter. “and the pleasure is all mine – i’d offer you a drink, but they don’t serve hard liquor here unfortunately.” if they did… ky would have downed at least three bottles of whiskey by now. “so, a coffee will have to suffice.”
“You wouldn’t listen even if I explained.” He was too exhausted for this; explaining anything took time and more so patience. Ky didn’t have the time for that – nor did he want to make it explaining everything. No, he’d just do what he always did; avoid and leave. “Anyways… you win,” he said, sliding his hands into the back pockets of his jeans. “I’m going back home.”
Sitting on the steps which lead up to his shop, he rested his head against the cool brick wall. A little nightcap before he called it an evening. More than half of the amber liquid had disappeared down his throat, now making a warm home in his belly. “Call me selfish, but I ain’t sharin’,” a comment directed to the fellow hovering near the doorway. (@hellfirebound)
“Have you ever been known to share?” he asked, not even bothering to hide the annoyance on his features or even in his tone. “Selfish is one thing, but you?“ He shook his head for a few moments. “Could be worse, but no. I don’t need a drink.” A pause. “At least not now.”
