.       however tempting it is to make ky repeat himself, bobby realizes pushing his luck is only going to make him LESS inclined to continue this streak of good deeds. ❝ alright, alright, don’t get your panties in a twist. ❞ there’s a smile on his face, however, one that urges ky’lar to smile too. crazy as it sounds, ky’s probably his closest friend…if also one of the most unpredictable. ❝ thank you. ❞

there was a slight grin that pulled on his lips. it lasted, but a moment, and then it vanished. still, it was there all the same. ❝ if i had them in a twist, ❞ he mused, grin pulling at his lips, ❝ there is no doubt that you’d be on the ground with my knee in your stomach. ❞ or, in other words, ky would have pinned bobby to the ground – just out of spite. ❝ among other things, of course. ❞

plurcspopulus:

❝               and what exactly do you think this will do? ❞

image

❝ quite honestly, i don’t think this will do anything. ❞  even if it did, ky knew that the chances of it having a real impact on the situation were slim to none. still, it was a card he was willing to play (even if the time wasn’t exactly right for it). ❝ however, even a small impact is still cause for some… devastating problems. ❞

a tiny display of genuine amusement crosses the face of the old demon, watching the other make their first impression. it was not the first time they have met, almost impossible for two beings as old as they were to completely avoid each other, but their paths rarely happened to cross. the denizens of hell were all motivated by personal agenda, not often aligning with another’s. if the inquisitor was to make a joke out of it, he would have worded it as ‘running in different circles’. however, it was always wise to know when intentions matched up.

“ no, perfection is hardly easy to achieve, even for me. i do admit that it has been something i strove for before. ” wistful words, accentuated with a long sigh and punctuated with the sound of the book closing in his hands. the old demon’s gaze falls along the body of the prince, eyes roaming the form that stood before him. those eyes were not staring at the vessel, however, but deeper. he needed no knives to dig under one’s skin to see just how they worked.  but, perfection is not all about becoming stronger or smarter, you know. sometimes there’s the need to remove what hinders you. prune the blighted parts of your being with precision, like an infection. now that is something i could easily help you with.

teeth bare to form a predatory grin, a languid stretch of his lips revealing a sharpness to the casual air. there’s a small silence before it’s broken by a coarse laugh, the lighthearted sound contrasting against the premonitory words.

“ but you’re not here for an expects advice on bettering one’s self. as you said, you’re here for information. good thing you’re in a library !  books all around !  some of them are quite interesting by the way, who knows what you may learn if you take the time to be studious for once. the collector was an odd man, dead now of course, fascinated by old history. even i wonder how he held on to some of these books for so long. practically all of them are copies of course, but what can you do when the most modern of texts in here were written around the fall of the heraclian dynasty. if you’re looking for something in particular, that is another thing that i could assist you in.

“i’ll keep what vestige’s of my humanity i have left – thanks, but no thinks.” the demon prince should have clipped his words, but alas he did not. a simple statement to just how distracted he was for the moment about the situation.
ky never needed to look into history before now, but there was a first for everything. more importantly, this wasn’t just about him – if this went decently, there was a good chance that he’d be able to destroy it all.
heaven, hell, and otherwise would be playthings once he was done. yet, he needed to know just what he was up against, and how to prepare. thus, he was here, and while he had a voice screaming in the back of his mind to leave.
“at any-rate,” he said, taking a step forward, “you might be able to; what do you know about..” there was a gesture up above, “along with information about our lovely home.” it was easier to admit to wishing to start a war than what he was truly wishing to do, but all the same? he knew better than to lie. especially around the one in front of him.

diversiformheros:

“Hey I’ll be the first to survive and live to tell everyone that you did rip me to shreds. It’ll be worth it. Oh and the fact I get to say you touched me willingly.” Wade chuckles and he knows he’s pushing his luck so he takes a half a step back and looks around for his pants. “You touched my butt in the first place, you started this.”

“I saw… an opportunity.” he could have said that it would have gone on longer if the other just shut up, but Ky wasn’t in the mood for that. No, he would keep up that anger for a while longer, and then get a drink… or six. “And I took it – end of story.” Ky knew he could have said more, but instead, he divert the subject – at least for the moment.. That way, maybe he wouldn’t have to deal with… everything. “You don’t have to get dressed you know; i run around with out a shirt on all the time. Usually with a tail.”

unbreakablewidow:

“Are you asking me OUT?”

It was CUTE, really. Natalia knew the extent of his POWER but watching him blush and inviting her to dinner had the agent SMILING

“I’d LOVE to.”

ATTEMPTING TO BE DECENT was taxing and there was only so much he could do before ADMITTING defeat. A reason to why he half-expected her to SLAM her fist in his face, but when she actually AGREED he was pleasantly surprised ( for once ).

“Well, you COULD say that.” Of course, among other things, Ky thought he could at least attempt to show her a good time – even if deep down there was no doubt in his mind it would END badly… as usual.

“Plain cheese please, anything else messes with my stomach, and of course. It’ll have to be at the first of the month though because I’m running pretty much on empty right now cash wise.”

image

“I don’t mean cas-” he cuts himself off with a sigh. “Never mind. I’ll get your pizza and make sure it as lots of cheese.” At least then he’d have done his good deed for the year.

.       even knowing ky’lar is needling him, speaking to his exact fears, it has the intended effect and roman’s chest is filled with gnawing doubt. what if it’s NOT worth it? oh he loves wes, will do ANYTHING for wes, but what if he’s sacrificing himself for nothing? what if ky is stringing him along with no intent to ever deliver his end of the bargain, finding loophole after loophole that roman hasn’t performed as promised?

❝ you’re wrong. ❞ still, his voice wavers, lips pressing together briefly so the skin around them goes white.

❝ maybe your family’s shit, but mine’s not. but i guess that’s too much for you to understand, so i’ll quit trying to explain. ❞ he shrugs the demon’s hand off his shoulder and straightens his suit jacket.

image

❝ all families are shit, ❞ he said far more bluntly than absolutely needed. if roman was going to explain, ky would voice his own point for the matter, but the truth of it was… his experience was different than most. he wouldn’t get into it, but he knew that some people would do anything for their families; his own included. he’d seen his father protect him even when ky didn’t think he would.

a reason to why the demon believed there was a bond there; it wasn’t exactly one made a blood either, but it was just as strong. something that while ky didn’t understand it… he couldn’t deny that it would with-stand the test of time. unless some fool tried to break it ( there was a reason he avoided family reunions ). ❝ it doesn’t matter what they do… eventually, they will all let you down.❞

❝ the sooner you learn to accept that little fact, the sooner you come to realize that you don’t – no you never need them. ❞  unless, they manage to save your ass, but that wasn’t the point.
