BLUE  GAZE,  DANCING  WITH  A  dangerous  lightness,  settled  in  him  with  a  huff  of  a  breath.          You  take  advantage  of  me,  Mr.  Richardson.    You  act  as  if  I  should  know  you  and  yet  I  do  not.          A  tipsy  queen  could  be  a  risky  thing  indeed,  though  closely  watched  by  her  bodyguards,  men  and  a  woman  ready  to  pull  her  away  if  she  risked  herself.    Lips  pulled  down  in  a  frown  as  she  peered  up  at  him.          And  all  men  flatter  me.

❝ I’M SURE  WE COULD CHANGE THAT, don’t you? ❞ He was attempting to be as decent as he possibly could. It was a rare occasion he ever came to the these parties, but he believed that blending in shouldn’t have been too hard. After-all, he was a prince himself – how hard was it to  make yourself belong  somewhere? Harder than he thought as a slight grin pulled at his lips. ❝ – unless you’re needed elsewhere.  ❞

“always willing to see what pathetic wish these saps are begging to sell their souls for. gotta watch out for the ones that are looking for fame. that might get them before we’re able to collect.”

“well, you can give them talent, but not give them fame. besides, fame could last one minute or even for several years.” he shrugged. “a deal is all about an exchange.  if they die  before their time? well… that’s not our problem.”

‘ your dad is a grade a asshole, ky’lar. why you bother taking such strong stock of his opinions is beyond me. i’m fairly certain val’shara would not agree to that. but then again, you don’t much care for her opinion, do you? ‘ lilith’s clawed nails were picking at a wound, idle amusement for herself, to keep her from strangling him. ‘ stop taking your father’s opinion for gold. don’t listen to him. ‘

‘i don’t care for anyone’s opinion – not even my own.’ maybe he did care for his father’s – if only so he could obtain what was rightfully his, but that was another story entirely. one, he didn’t quite feel like telling to her for the moment. ‘i just like stating the obvious.’ from a certain point of view, but he’d never admit that – not to himself and most certainly not to her.

THERE WAS ONLY A LIMITED amount of time before the slim margin of opportunity fated. Ky knew better than most that this opening wouldn’t happen again for five years and the time window was closing much faster than anticipated

“Just be glad I’ve chose to neglect being in my true form.” He could have very easily been in it, but doing so would have meant the risk of far more interruptions. Something he was trying to avoid in the first place. “Just give me a few more minutes – five at the most.” What he needed was truly a miracle, but he doubted one would actually happen in this case.

Still, he wasn’t one to give up as he placed his right hand on the cool ground; his left on the searing hot rock face he was standing before. It was now or never it seemed. “Or maybe it won’t even take that long. if I can open this gateway… we’ll be out of here before any sort of guardian wakes up.” Though, even Ky knew something was wrong – he couldn’t get through the barriers and he didn’t know why. He’d planned this for months; everything he threw at it should have worked and yet…maybe he wasn’t strong enough.

“Or do you have any clever ideas to speed this up, Strange.”

the options the both of them had were LIMITED. ky could have
ATTEMPTED to take the hunters on by himself, but he’d been
CAUTIONED against doing such a thing, and for once he listened.
if one of them was to catch DRACULA off guard… they were
                        DANGEROUS. highly dangerous.

a real plan would be needed to take care of them. as they wouldn’t
just leave. not since they had STRUCK blood and most likely had
their sent. “great,” he said, sucking in a deep breath, and letting it
out slowly. “just what we NEED.” his tone was sarcastic, but he
was at least being honest – more so than he’d ever been before
this point about their current situation.

“they’ll most likely be back – if not now. later.” there was a tone of
worry in his voice, but it only lasted a moment as ky noticed that
vlad was using him as a support. once that happened, he let a
noticeable grin spread across his lips. “besides… i FORGET
i even have one at times.”

“Got a rope?”

An eyebrow lifted at the question. Who cared a rope with them? Sure, he may have knew were a few were – granted they were brand new and short -, but the question was on the top of his mind was why did anyone need one? Besides himself. “And if I do?” Maybe he should have kept his mouth shut and simply said no, but there was no fun in simply that.

“ – I am creating a team, of sorts, changing this universe
up a little.” Grinning she eyed the man before her “and I
think you’d be prefect. Also I’m Tess, what do they call
you?”

He didn’t need to be told twice; his mind was made up the
moment the word ‘team’ escaped her lips. The answer – for
what it was worth
– would always be yes. Ky didn’t even need
to think about it to know that was his final – not to mention
truthful -answer. “It’s Ky’lar an’ i’m in.”

There wasn’t much he could do to defend himself there, even if he was the innocent party. Claiming culpability was his favourite past time, taking the blame upon his (sometimes bony) shoulders when such wasn’t necessary. And he wouldn’t have it any other way.
“You can, huh?” Johnny makes an effort to roll his shoulders, limbering up for the fight to come. If the unnatural warming of his blood was any indication, their foes were converging fast on the house that had granted them temporary rest.
“Guess we won’t have long to see if you’re tellin’ the truth or not.”

It was one thing to say he could handle himself. It was another entirely to do so. Not to say that Ky couldn’t – it just was always a fifty-fifty chance he could, but being beaten to a pulp was only half the fun.
“You shouldn’t doubt me, Johnny.” Or maybe he should, Ky would have in the same position. It wouldn’t have mattered how much training he hand. Ky always was a wild card that much was always certain. No matter who he made alliances with.
“I may not be the best of company, but trust me… i can deal with anything that’s coming our away.” Or die trying.
