Though his hand throbbed in complaint after the fact, his punch had connected, te jab from a sour deity brought continually lower by this friend and his family. To fight Ky here served no purpose than to escalate matters, and there was no better example of a statement of intent as a punch to someone’s face.
Rather shockingly however, the man didn’t drop to the floor, as he had seen many a plucky fighter sent before him do when he used his strength. Worse than that, Ky lifted his head afterwards, revealing much by doing so. Ah, that explains why, thinks the Odinson as Ky charges, more mindless beast than tactful human.
And that loss of humanity would serve the turned demon ill, a reckless savage that the blond could deal with without stockpiling any hint of remorse. Losing the advantage of height as Ky’s dark nature manifested itself in deadly claws and a mane of spikes, Odinson bends his knees slightly to dodge the manic swipes of sharp fingers.
Not stopping there, he then catches each of demon ky’s hands by the wrist, wrenching each limb sideways to leave exposed his chest and head. Jaws clamped tightly together, the unworthy one waits for the space of a heartbeat before stepping closer, swing his head as he did so that his skull collided with demon Ky, intending to stagger him. Demonstrating asgardians were nothing if not hard headed.
the demon’s own rage was in control now; swiping left and right – even managing to get a slight kick in ( and failing ). he enjoyed every second of it; the anger, the rage, and the pure excitement of it all. oh, he’d give anything for a good fight – even more so if he could fight on even ground.
he knew the other was in a disadvantage, but that didn’t concern him. truth be told, the only thing that did was making sure thor was ripped apart, and his anger stated. only then, would ky be able to at least be able to function half-way decently.
until that moment, he growled; trying to get in another blow – something to make the unworthy one bleed and then he was caught. both of his arms were in the god’s hands and he let out a deep hiss; teeth clenched together as their eyes narrowed.
a thought crossed their mind to attempt to bite them right in the face, but before it could be anything more than a passing fancy there was a hit. it quite honestly staggered him back several feet as the skull collided right with his chest. it send a massive shock through his system – one that he wouldn’t soon forget as they let out a large roar.
one , that was a simple warning, and a threat- this fight wasn’t over yet. not by a long shot.
His senses were on alert, he didn’t want the other catch him off guard. Loki didn’t trust him an inch and there was something very suspicious about him. He was with Thanos, but seemed to be against the mad titan at the same time. In many ways that conflict reminded him of himself back in the day when he served Thanos as well.
“You’re forgetting hope. Hope is a powerful tool if a lot of people have it. It fuels heroes to do good deeds, telling them that their people need them to keep them safe. Perhaps it might sound foolish, but things can very much be turned back.”
“Hope is foolish. It can make a man or break a man.” By man, Ky’lar meant people in general, but he didn’t think that needed clarification at the moment. “Hope is needed at times – it makes people press on, but it also can hinder them.”
“Everyone has their breaking point, everyone has what they will fold for, and everyone has a price.” Even Ky if he was being completely honest with himself. “They are even willing to trade the one thing they care about for family.” A pause. “That is why i’m here.”
hurting him had never been her direct intent, but she supposed anyone could argue that heated arguments got that way because of an underlying wish to lash out at the other. retribuation for how they felt. after he let her go, a few backhanded smartass comments come to her mind, but she is not about to let herself spit them out. not after all of this – whatever mood she had sent him off into.
but she’s confused that he wants to show her where he grew up. opening up after a moment like that wasn’t typical, but she supposed nothing about ky was. still not fully meeting his gaze, she nods again. “yeah – i – if that’s what you want to do tonight…. we can.” she always wishes to know more, but she’s nervous to see what this night would bring.
he was about to say what he wanted to do tonight was tear into a few humans, but that was the usual. ky always wanted to rip them apart and sometimes he wanted to do the same to her – the only thing that stopped him was that simple amount of feelings. feelings, that was starting to actually recognize.
“unless, you have better idea’s.” not that he expected her to present any – ky was just attempting to be decent. so far? he didn’t know how it would work out, but his intention was to give her an opening. if she really wished to hurt him… he’d give her the full picture – from his point of view – and then let her make her own assumptions.
——red snorted. “i’m talkin’ about you guys that can pass for a fuckin’ human. i’m a demon too, jackass.” despite the care he’d used to pack virtually every creature’s weak- ness into the bullets he made, honestly, hellboy didn’t feel like if he fired a shot, even if it hit, it would do a damnedthing. that was the nature of demons, it seemed. “why are you here? shouldn’t you be playing tea party?”
“will you look at that!” sarcasm dripped from his lips. “i didn’t quite notice before.” of course he did, but ky was just one of the lucky one’s. he could pass as human most of the time. the only problem was even he didn’t know how long that would last. especially these days. “must have just slipped my mind.” a smirk. “either way? to risk sounding just like dear ol’ dad? I like it here.” though, that was just putting it lightly. “an’ i have no intention of leaving.” not anytime soon.
❝ I don’t know if you’ve been in a fight before, but there’s usually not this much talking. ❞
❝ I don’t… I don’t even have a driver’s license. ❞
❝ Alright, I’m gonna pretend you didn’t say that. ❞
❝ You ever see that really old movie, Empire Strikes Back? ❞
❝ Not in that onesie, you’re not. ❞
❝ That thing doesn’t obey the laws of physics at all! ❞
❝ I got something kinda big, but I can’t hold it very long. ❞
❝ Yeah, we don’t really need to start a conversation. ❞
❝ It’s an honor. I’m shaking your hand too long. Wow, this is awesome! ❞
❝ What’s up, Tic-Tac? ❞
❝ Did he tell you what we’re up against? ❞
❝ We’re outside the law on this one, so if you come with us, you’re a wanted man. ❞

❝ You couldn’t have done that earlier? ❞
❝ Are we still friends? ❞
❝ I retire for what, like, five minutes, and it all goes to shit. ❞

❝ We’re taking a break. It’s nobody’s fault. ❞
❝ In my culture, death is not the end. It’s more of a stepping off point. ❞

❛ — that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take them any less SERIOUSLY ❜ she’s not one to dabble, anyway, what else was there to say?
❛ maybe you should think about the headache it will cause everyone else. ❜
❛ do you know why i don’t enjoy guys? ❜ he asked, eyebrow lifting lightly. ❛ it’s not due to the fact that i don’t know how to fire them – i’m a great shot after-all, but it’s due to the fact that after being shot about thirty times… i can’t stand them. ❜ there was more to it, but he wasn’t about to get into that. least of all at the moment. ❛ so, if i get a death threat? i shrug it off. it may be painful – if it happens -, but i will survive. ❜
for a man who spends his life taking care of others, one would be surprised on the depths of hell he has seen. there is more than thunder behind the eyes of this god, and his trips through the universe have sobered a once wild and reckless youth. the change between then and now is staggering, and most can see it once. fewer people approach him now that they can see the grief and pain he carries on his broad shoulders. so it comes as a bit of a surprise when a stranger approaches him on the street.
“ may i help you? ”
ky should have just kept his distance; focused more on his next stunt to bring him into being the center of attention than something as foolish as this. talking was never his strong suit these days. not when violence was much more easier to justify when those more primal urges took over. still, he was going to at least attempt something more than just mysterious words that amounted up to his usual banter about something akin to the foolishness of a child.
“depends,” he said, hands slipping into his back pockets. “– doesn’t look like you’re too busy.”
❛ Change your mind so soon?❜ Sprouting that devilish smile, the corners of their mouth twist higher with each passing. Just moments ago they beckoned him forth with a challenge—only to tuck tail between legs when he took up on that offer. Ah, the duality of man. So utterly useless. ❛ Sorry, no refunds pal. Outta learn to be careful for what you wish for. ❜ The alien hisses, voice degrading to a guttural chitter. It was almost akin to laughter.
Their feet scrape against the ground, beginning to circle around Ky’lar with the full intent of a stalking predator. ❛ Deserve respect? Please. I don’t deserve it when I already know I have it. The world is my audience, and I inspire them every day to stick to their little script. I’m what they fear of embracing the most, and you just happened to make the mistake of trying that. ❜ To add punctuation to his final sentence, the weaponized arm raises above Carnage’s head for added emphasis; right before they finally lunged.
They changed their mind out of a slight amount of self preservation – no, it was fear. Not of Carnage themselves, but of what they could possibly face should they fail. True death was one thing – family was far worse. Failure, while it happened, wasn’t an option, and he’d get in far worse trouble if anyone found out about this little taunt of his.
Still, it wasn’t like they had real time to talk; the only thing going through their mind was how to create a strategic defense. Rectifying this little error in judgement would come later ( if their even was a later ) if at all.
He had little time ( maybe mere instants ) to make a move – left, right, forward, back, and anywhere in-between. If he had more time, maybe he’d have been able to actually formulate a proper plan ( he should have kept them talking ), but for the moment, all they could do was use their arms as their only defense ( something they knew they’d pay for eventually ) as shifting into their true form wasn’t advisable. Least of all here. ❛ — yeah, ❜ they managed to get out through gritted teeth – even though they knew they should have just kept their damnable mouth shut. ❛ too late to say sorry? ❜
“OBSERVATION MEANS YOU intend to do something . one way or another . means your curious . means you’re attracted to the problem .”
“I’M ATTRACTED TO MANY THINGS. most of them full of violence. so, am i curious? yes, i am – i just seem to have many problems. none of them are easy to deal with.”
Abel could understand the other’s circumstances. They were not so different from his own. There were punishments for angels who didn’t strictly adhere to Heaven’s authority. Some were light, some hard, but all were unpleasant. He let out a soft sigh, “Perhaps one day situations may change and things will be different. Until then, there is nothing more to do than maintain the status quo.”
“doubtful,” he said, arms crossing over his chest. “free will – if you could even call it that – is a joke. we all have responsibilities. we all have our duty – i chose the easier path.” or was it the harder one? he didn’t really seem to care at the time the decision was made. “i chose to give in instead of resisting – i traded humanity… for something far worse.”
