“i mean… maybe a little. to fit into a dress code at a restaurant better than a chain that has outdoor seating?” she smiles, probably a little too much, but it’s been a while since she’s gone out to dinner like a normal person. honestly hadn’t been too awfully long since she had had a steak – but she had plenty of lost years to catch up on.  plus, she would be lying if she claimed to not have feelings for ky.

“then it seems… i’ll have to get on my best suit then.” of course, he hated suits these days – he spent years in them and now he just enjoyed leather jackets. still, he couldn’t help the grin that spread across his lips. “doesn’t it?” well among other things. plus… it would be nice to feel normal for once. especially these days.

❛ — you know what? i don’t doubt it.  ❜ she’s speaking as if she knows the man in front of her, and there’s not a chance in hell she does, BUT the magic inching across her skin starts to feel like daggers teasing pores, reminding her hey – there’s a reason you don’t sit in crossroads dumbass

❛  people like me? what’cha mean by that hmmm??? ❜ if he knows, well – that would be a shit way to start any interaction at a crossroad, but hell, she’s had worse.

oh, he meant many things, but he wasn’t going to admit any of them. no, he’d keep her guessing for a while, and then maybe he’d manage to spit out the truth. though, even that was unlikely in all reality. ❛ you know, ❜ he finally said, ❛ rumor has it that people come to a crossroads for deals. ❜ a pause ❛ all sorts of deals. ❜

❛ A SHOW? WHAT KIND OF SHOW?  and trust me when i say i’ve been in worse places. or trapped in my own head to long. this is a NORM for me.

❛ IF YOU HAVE TO ASK. ❜ there was a roll of his eyes; explaining himself or what he expected was… taxing. not to mention irrelevant in his mind.  ❛ however, if you’re more interested in simply… staying locked away? by all means go. ❜

     “you must have done something.”

whatever johnny did… it wasn’t good. not that ky could complain; he wasn’t a target. well, not yet at least, but even he knew that could change. hell might have been many things, but easy? not likely. especially when someone knew – of a sort – came into the scene.

either way, he had to hand it to him. whatever he did worked. now, ky wanted the opportunity to know the how if the situation. so, when the time came… maybe he could take what he truly deserved, but he wasn’t in a rush for it.

no, maybe at one point he was, but now? he’d rather just sit back and watch everyone fight it out. that way, all he’d have to do is swoop in behind them when the time came. it might not have been the easiest way of things, but it would suffice. for the time being at least.

      “whatever it was… i’m impressed.”

“No you can’t just kill everyone. I won’t allow that and neither will any of the other Avengers and I know— you know that.”

He shook his head walking over to the man and placing his hand on his shoulder, trying to help him know that there was someone that cared. “Ky’lar, you can’t think this way. You can do it— you can change the way people see you but it takes time. I’ve been there, needing to change the perception of others, even my own perception of who I was. It’s not easy but nothing worth something ever is.”

“yeah, well, it makes no difference to me.” maybe at one point it would have made a true impact on his actions. maybe he would have even pushed the thought out of his mind, but he truly thought he could take the avengers on.

ky was many things. though, at the root of it all… he was still a child. one that while he tried to fix things… he just made them worse. so, he went back to habits that he had been trying to break. more so since it was far easier to do that than anything else – at least to him. “you can’t change what you are.” a pause. “what i am.”

“i never asked for this.”

rage and anger; if he just let himself go, he’d destroy the entire area with no second thoughts. maybe that would have been for the best in all reality. to let go and show strange the truth.

instead, ky’s hands clenched into tight fists as he took a step forward. no, he didn’t need a fight, but he was still going to entice one if need be. “an’ you think i did?” he asked, eyes narrowing. “you may have had a choice in your fate. i didn’t – i didn’t CHOSE to be this. i was BORN this way!”
