′if you’ve ever wanted to be an avenger, now is your chance. i, captain america, will be conducting open interviews for a place on our ever growing team of heroes to save the day. please give your name, your age, what abilities you have and why you want to become an avenger.
′
‘ will you look at that – captain america trying to recruit for your little team. ‘ his arms crossed over his chest with a smirk. ‘ i almost want to say i’m impressed, but then again? whoever you recruit i’ll just have to try to kill – isn’t that what avengers do? fight one’s you deem villains? ’ a pause as ky glanced down for a few moments. ‘ or am i humbly mistaken? ’
“we are all lost, i suppose. wishing this all has a higher meaning than my father haphazardly throwing ingredients together. a tad bit heavy on the chemical x, leaving nothing but a world of chaos.” lucifer did not mind that part so much. he didn’t need to have everything orderly to function or for it to all serve a greater purpose. he only wished his father would squash the rumors that any of it did.
“given enough time, someone could be found; won’t be easy, but it happens.” his lips pursed together for a few moments. “this world of chaos is one to be enjoyed – to an extent. sometimes, you need just a bit of order to keep things even. Then again? You could just change the game entirely. That’s fun as well.”
‘ i suppose not, as cold and distant as you are. ‘ the ghost of a woman turned away, so as not to have to look at a face that regarded her with such detachment and disdain. she wondered, quietly and never aloud, why he came here — he bore no familial attachment to her, and certainly didn’t call her ancestral home his; nor did he ever need or seek her advice. it was a mystery, to even the ghosts that haunted the halls here.
she hadn’t seen blackheart in years. decades.
‘ ah, well. i have no explanation for it. ‘
distance was the only thing he could do these days. if he kept himself away from everyone… it protected them. not to mention himself. there were too many what if’s’ that went through his head on a daily basis and getting dragged back to hell was always on his mind. he’d been there several times; several times willingly, but he didn’t like it when he wasn’t the one in control down there.
still, he didn’t think being cold, and distant was a bad thing. no, he enjoyed it when everyone stayed away, and he could actually breathe. he only came here due to the fact it was the last place anyone would expect him to really be.
‘you wish,’ he said, staring into a dark corner of the house. ‘i’d be better.’ sometimes even he wished it as well, but that wasn’t in the cards for him. not now – not anytime soon. ‘sadly enough… i don’t think that will happen.’
It had always existed and always would exist, hidden in distant wastes and dark places all over the world until the time when the great priest Cthulhu, from his dark house in the mighty city of R’lyeh under the waters, should rise and bring the earth again beneath his sway. Some day he would call, when the stars were ready, and the secret cult would always be waiting to liberate him. Meanwhile no more must be told. There was a secret which even torture could not extract. Not even about the one who would bring it all… the herald.

ky’lar could become ERRATIC and unpredictable at times. his ANGER was something he tried to keep in check, but even ky could have INCIDENTS. the demon could LASH out at someone with no warning; the slightest discomfort and he’d TEAR apart whoever was near him.
and yet the question BEGGED to be truly answered. would vlad EVER need to defend himself from ky? it was a POSSIBILITY, but one he wouldn’t admit would happen. if the circumstances were right, there was no doubt ky would act as if he was as FERAL animal, and yet he believed he truly had his temper under COMPLETE control.
“one day,” he said, grin spreading across his lips, “you might find yourself in a POSITION that you’d want to run or simply stand aside.” it would be on that day that ky WOULDN’T restrain himself and rip a hole through the country side – it would last a while. maybe a few days to a week, but he’d get over it. he always did. just as long as no one tried to get in his way.
“either way, when that day comes, i hope there is something that will keep my attention for a few hours.” a pause. “still, i have designs for a… holding cell – i’m sure you can make the NECESSARY preparations. “
Old enough and brazen enough to rebuke youngsters like Ky’lar with ease, John spurned any benefits of old age, despite rapidly approaching his seventh decade of life and yet not showing his age at all. Any protests faced he diffused with practised charm and manipulative ploys, preying on moods, perceptions, conditions. Anything that may grant him an edge. “’Course you don’t, old son. So why don’t ya start proving to me, an’ maybe I’ll let ya be.”
While Ky didn’t feel he needed to prove anything – let alone to John – there was no doubt other eyes on him. They may not have always been present, but they were there; watching and waiting for him to fuck up. It was to that reason he believed they had someone watch over him… so they wouldn’t have to or perhaps it was spite. “Or maybe you should step aside.” He knew John wouldn’t, but that didn’t mean Ky couldn’t request such a thing. “I don’t need anyone keeping me on a leash; let alone someone like you.”
If it was up to him, they’d not even be in this situation, but Ky just had to tag along. He wanted to see the famous Punisher in action. He wanted to observe – he just didn’t think that things would end up going this far. Luckily for them, Ky knew of a way to get them out, but he doubted that Frank would agree to it. ‘And I told you i’d take care of this – a few noble people may die, but that’s what happens.’
