He smirked. Yes, some spells could be weak
when used by themselves. But when combined with other suitable spells? The
outcome was usually a success. However, Loki didn’t know who ( or what ) the
demon wanted to subdue, so he had no choice but to trust the other’s
assumptions.
“Very well. What ideas do you have? There could be a way to
figure out
your…conundrum.”
One might brand him a traitor for willingly helping a stranger. However, he sensed that
the demon’s foe wasn’t of Asgard, so it wasn’t really going to hurt any of
them, was it? And if it did…well. He
wouldn’t be surprised. The man was more likely to be a treacherous stranger than a moral ally. It would be more SHOCKING if the man turned out to be the latter.
“More than I can count,” he said, arms calmly moving behind his back, “All of them involve certain…situations going according to plan. None of them have a very high likely hood of succeeding.” Even if one of his plans did, even Ky wasn’t so blind as to believe it would be that easy. A direct assault wasn’t going to gain him any favors, but maybe if he could find something that could help.. he’d have a much larger chance of survival.
“My target,” he said, “Isn’t one that can be taken on by conventional means. I might be able to beat him in a fair fight, but there is no doubt in my mind it won’t be fair.” More than likely wouldn’t even be a fight if things went right, but that was quite honestly not the point he was brining it up. “A reason to why I need something…” he didn’t even know what he was looking for at the moment. “To bring him down to size.”
ANNAEL BARELY MANAGED TO NOT ROLL HER EYES. “ You are naive and blinded by glory. ”DEMONS. Always blinded by their own personal ambition. There was a bigger picture to consider, there was always a bigger picture. “ You say you don’t care for Heaven or Hell, or Earth? That’s FINE, do you care for existing? Because I’m not talking about Hell on Earth, I’m talking about the balance of celestial power in the hands of an archangel who hates demons and humans equally. And since he doesn’t care about demons, he doesn’t care about keeping humans alive to make deals to make demons. This is bigger than who WINS, it’s about who survives. ”
“DO YOU ENJOY THE SOUND OF YOUR YOUR VOICE enough to blindly admit the truth of the matter?” If he was being honest, he knew that things DIDN’T look decent, and that whoever WON wouldn’t be advisable. A reason to why he was ATTEMPTING to keep his mind open, but he was ALWAYS blinded by his own AMBITION – even if it would SURVE him ill. “I care for EXISTING as much as the next human OR demon. SURVIVAL will happen; it doesn’t matter WHO sits on that damned CHAIR.” Though, he DOUBTED his words as soon as he said them.
“Yes, you were.” He decides to ignore everything else and focus on the fact that Thor was going to give in. Once, Ky would have enjoyed such a thing, but not when it was quite clear in his mind that submitting to plans wasn’t going to get them anywhere.
Maybe if the situation was reversed, it would have worked, but for the time being, there was no way possible for it to. The moment Thor gave in was the moment that everything Ky was betting on would be lost. A reason to why his disgust was aimed and directed at Thor’s own movements and actions or rather, in-actions.
“It doesn’t matter what you say you weren’t going to do, your actions speak for themselves.” More importantly, Ky wasn’t going to let Thor go back down that road; not unless it was absolutely necessary. “Not to mention,” he said, taking a step forward, “We’re both stuck here and i’m -” he cut himself off for a few moments as he flashed a grin towards the other, and started over his previous stateement.
“Not to mention,” he said again, “You’re not leaving anytime soon.” Ky then gripped one of Thor’s shoulders, “So, it’s about time get with the program, and do exactly what I say.”
Of course things had gone complicated; Thor took off, started a war, and now had to suffer for his actions. Loki was… who knew where, Odin was more or less dying, and Ky was the one left to pick up the pieces. If only Thor was there, maybe he could have gotten through this, but no. Thor was on Earth and wouldn’t be allowed back. Not even if Ky had requested to bring him back – a reason to why he was going to wait. If Odin died, Ky would just have to put forth a certain… proposal to grab the Throne. He had enough support with what he’d been doing, but the validity of his claims would still be up for debate. A reason to why he wanted to keep his Brothers out of the way for as long as possible. That way, maybe he could focus on getting exactly what he wanted: power and the throne.
It was to that reason he was here; on Earth. A place he’d only been to a very long time ago. If he was being honest, he almost wished to stay here longer, but it wouldn’t serve his needs at all. No, he’d inform Thor of what had happened, and the get back to what would soon be his kingdom (if everything went properly).
“When I heard Odin did this,” he said, taking a step forward from the shadows of the room. “I almost didn’t believe it.” Ky thought it was a joke – until he heard otherwise in all reality, but here they were. One step closer to his over-all plan. Or, at least, part of a plan.
Seeing as they were still investigating a case in this town, Jack probably should’ve been more suspicious than he was— or at least have asked some questions about the strange happenings. But it was in his nature to be trusting, and he didn’t see any cause for alarm just yet. Maybe if Sam or Dean were with him, it might’ve been a different story. “There’s a bar not too far from here,” he offered, tilting his head slightly as he considered the question. “It’s Thursday, July 19.”
“Year?” The question was asked as if it was the per-usual. Ky sometimes found himself out mere weeks after he was thrown in the bit, but it had been years- no centuries for him down there. A reason to why he needed to know exactly how long he’d been gone – if it was by what he’d assumed… it had been at least a few months – maybe longer. “What…” he sucked in a deep breath and let it out slowly. “year is it?”
there’s a little quirk to her lips as she crosses her arms over her chest, “ promise? ” it’s really not all that smart to be taunting him like this and she realizes that, but on some level, she wouldn’t be too upset if it did prove fatal. “ listen, i’m stuck here until this is over, so i need you to either work with me, end me, or give me a really good reason to be out of commission for this one. ”
“i can’t truly promise anything.” or, even if he could, ky didn’t think it was needed for the moment. no, if ky was going to promise something, it would be that things wouldn’t be easy against him, and that whatever he did… couldn’t be changed. however, getting to that point wasn’t going to be easy; he didn’t like giving out promises unless he was truly pissed off. so far? he hadn’t gotten to that point. “it just would be in your…. best interests to leave.”
