He wasn’t wrong. Despite the decades he’s spent (seven to be exact) training his body and mind to harness and control his monstrous urges and needs, it wasn’t perfect – he wasn’t perfect by any means. Mistakes could happen, they have. Ethan was merely determined to work hard to ensure they didn’t. He set a ‘scheduled’ feeding time, once every couple of months, one donor and a few small gulpfuls of blood should hold him off for a while. His next time was approaching soon, but he could manage without it just fine. In all honesty, he had one donor already in mind though getting close to the demon’s neck without a struggle would prove difficult.

“You do not have to worry about me. I assure you.” Was all he said in response. It would be foolish to think that Ky’lar would believe him just like that, Ethan knew that he had to prove himself to earn his complete trust – not that he assumed he would get that, not entirely at least. “Ky’lar? Amusing, I thought a unique name would fit such an…idiosyncratic person. It seems I was right.” Hands slipped into pockets, the vampire leaning back on his heels, balancing himself effortlessly. “Is that all you require of me, Ky’lar? Simply that I control myself? For a moment, you made it seem as though you had something to offer that would be worth my while – was I mistaken to assume you were extravagant?”

There was no doubt in Ky’s mind that the moment things became a little problematic ( or he let down his guard ) that Ethan would use that moment to strike. He’d been involved with Vampires before; not romantically, but, rather, it was purely business, and among other things… he hated them.

If it was up to him, every single vampire in existence would be eradicated.  It wouldn’t matter who they were or what they could do for him.  They would all be not just dead, but exterminated as well.

“Your assurances mean nothing.” At least to him, Ky knew what Vampires could do, and how easy restraint could slip from their grasp. So, he was going to take everything Ethan said simply on face value. At least until Ky felt he could have a sense of peace around him  ( but even then that little  part was unlikely to happen ).

“You might be able to control yourself today, maybe even tomorrow as well, but the moment i turn my back,” or let his guard down, “you’ll be ready to stick those fangs where they don’t belong.” Then, Ky would break them off, but he doubted  that he’d needed to state the obvious for the moment.

“You worry about keeping your nature under control and maybe i’ll let you in on everything, but only when the time comes.”

Oh, he was one of those

❝  Well, then it looks like we’ve got the beginning of a deal… Still a couple details to hammer out.  ❞

There was something that wasn’t quite adding up, a wriggling feeling in the base of her stomach that was the impetus for her unease. Felicia had dealt with cocky benefactors before, but the ease with which he agreed… There was something wrong.

❝  Have you done anything to arouse suspicion? Pressed a little too hard? Attempted to grease a couple palms? Museum types and archaeologists are familiar with men of your sort… I need to know how difficult you may have made this.  ❞

❝ i’ve pressed just hard enough to get their attention. as i said before, i’d go myself, but they won’t even let me near  the building. ❞ not to mention ky had attempted to kill a few  guards the last time  he was there, but that was besides  the point in his mind.

❝ these.. types don’t know a good deal when they see one. if it was me, what i want would have been in my grasp  months  ago, but as it stands… ❞ he  trailed off for a few moments….❝ it doesn’t look like i have any other options.  ❞

SO MAYBE COMING to this meeting with all the major crime lords on the Eastern Seaboard was not a good idea. Fisk had been glaring at her for the better part of the cocktail hour, leading the Black Cat to reject every drink that came her way. Hackles were up, sharp green eyes scanning the room for allies.

SHE WAS MOVING to him as soon as he was spotted, sitting at the corner of the room. Long and lean, with a cold and dispassionate aura, exactly what Felicia was needing for cover. This world involved so much more politics, especially with so many players in this room. Sliding in close in the booth, shoulders brushing, the thief turned boss looked up with a playfully arched brow.

❝  Well, I don’t believe we’ve had the pleasure. Black Cat. You are?

HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO AVOID ANY CONTACT  here. That way, he wouldn’t RISK voicing his opinions too badly and he could LEAVE with out a real incident of sorts.  More importantly, a name  was ONE thing, but his FAMILY was another completely.

KEEPING HIS HEAD DOWN was in the best interests of everyone; saying what he wanted could get people KILLED. Not that the simple prospect of death MEANT anything to him, but he wasn’t going to cause any UNNECESSARY violence when it  could be AVOIDED.

AN EYEBROW LIFTED as she approached; plain DISGUST spread across his features as she spoke.  The question of WHY  she was over here was on that mind of his,  but he wasn’t going  to ASK that – no, that would come out another way of sorts.

RUDENESS WOULDN’T SUIT anyone in his situation; too many BIG names in one place. It was why he chose the approach of being UNINTERESTED (even if that could have been considered rude in itself).

❝ Ky’lar, ❞ he said, forgoing any TITLES that could  have  proven  to be beneficial for the moment as he leaned back  against the wall.  ❝ An’  we  haven’t.  ❞ There  was a gesture to  the area at large.  ❝ As soon as the business is done? i’m gone. ❞ Then he could relax in a very  cold hotel room,  but business first,  and then attempting to ignore the REST of creation later.

“only because you haven’t taken a second to truly consider the others.” maybe to many, the baby was nothing but a ball of cells until it really started to develop, but to jess, it was a baby. their baby. maybe she should have been more careful in preventing this, but she wasn’t one to dwell upon the past, rather find things to fix the future instead of mull over ways a situation could have been prevented. “i can’t harm them – and if you’ll be a threat to our baby i’ll find a way to keep you away too.” determined, though the few times she had gotten frustrated and locked him out with wards, he had been able to find her without much trouble, but none of it had been driven by maternal instinct before. quirking a brow, she looked him over with an uncertain shine in her eyes. “—— what do you mean? keep the demon part of them locked up? could you even do that?”

image

“there are many things that i’m truly capable of,” he said bluntly. “some of them are more… extreme than others.” it was possible he could do it, but even ky didn’t know how far it would go. part of of him wanted to give them a choice; to chose for themselves what they wanted to be, but… that was impossible. ky knew the dangers; knew what it would be like to feel alone. to have a family, but never feel like you truly belonged. maybe if he just knew… things would have been easier on him, but he didn’t. “if need be… i could seal it away. make sure that it never surfaces.” a risky ploy, but even ky knew that emotions were what originally brought out everything. still, he didn’t want anyone else going through what he had…. he didn’t want them to have to deal with killing someone by accident, and then start to enjoy the feeling.

still, there wasn’t much more he could do. she was dead set in her ways and if she wanted them alive? so be it, but ky wasn’t going to risk the entire world – no, his entire world crumbling down around him. it was just too painful… not to mention that he already had more than enough enemies. he didn’t need any coming after his children. “it’s possible, yes, but… i don’t know the consequences.”

              ———————–    ….
he cannot answer that,   because the seraph does not know.       or, he does and  he just follow the orders as they come.  after all, angels are  taught to obey and never ask questions.   but after meeting the winchesters, well, castiel has questions.  he has doubts.   and he will surely be punished for them, one day.   not that a simple DEMON will learn that, though.  because that is castiel’s own secret ; his own cross to bear.

‘      —   that’s …    that’s not the same.     humanity is father –   it’s GOD’s children,  just like us angels.    we are supposed to love them,  protect them.

‘ and look where that got your kind.’ oh, he hated every last angel – maybe there was some he could stand to be around, but never for long. if he possibly managed to know one or wasn’t a demon, he might not have despised them as much, but there was doubt his stance on them would ever change.

‘ god’s children mean nothing – whoever or whatever he is? he’s long gone an’ you’re just here to pick up the bloody pieces.’
