TAKING A THREATENING step forward into the lithe half demon’s space, Thor’s lip curled up into a sneer. He hated demons, hated the way the looked, hated their energy, hated the way they smelled. In the opinion of the thunder god, the only good demo was a dead one.

❝  And it would serve you well, cockroach, to remember that I have bested Mephisto. If you truly think yourself my equal, let us duel!  ❞

❝ I am your equal. ❞ At least, that was what he told himself. Ky’lar wasn’t fully whole… nor was he actually there most of the time. His mind constantly drifted unless he was centered by someone or something. A reason to why fighting was one of – if not – the best option to keep him not just on edge, but focused.❝ you may have defeated Mephisto, but that means nothing, Thor. Even you should know that one person – even the kin of a demon – is not and does not have the same value as another. ❞

his lips pursed into a fine-line for a few moments, ❝ and we will duel. this i swear.❞

"Just certain people who seek me out to do their dirty betting.“ Frank stated. He sat down on his chair with no interest of reading the newspaper or the book nearby. Not with someone he didn’t have the slightest distrust for. The man could put on trust me face, but he was good at spotting the terrible things someone has done.

“And what is this task of yours?” This was his second task and he felt like some errand boy when it came Ky because he was being sent out with a mission. An raised an eyebrow not the fact he would have kill targets, but to cause a distraction. This was not something the Punisher was none for, not his kind of thing. “Why would I be causing a distraction?”

“If we’re going to be completely honest, I don’t, nor have i ever needed anyone to do my dirty work.” In truth, Ky could have done it himself, but he knew that sometimes it would benefit everyone if outside assistance was obtained. That way, things may actually go entirely to plan, and not as haywire as they usually did.

“I can do it myself, but,” he trailed off for a few moments as he then grunted. “I believe you could help me.” Even if he had to word things just right so maybe castle would listen to him in complete detail. “If you don’t like the term of distraction…  think of it was a job while I do what’s needed; the real dirty work and you get to have a bit of fun.”

she is as silent as SHADOW itself — unskilled eyes couldn’t pick her apart from the darkness, even her red silk unable to reflect light. this, however, is a DEMON’s matter — somehow the assassin suspects courtesies such as introducing herself are simply pointless ( still she grins a deadly, menacing grin: her version of a handshake ). ——  lil’ birdie said you’re hiring. ”

there was an expectation that someone would eventually show up. if it wasn’t to ruin his plans, it was to gather information, or maybe talk. all options were on the table and even her words wouldn’t change his mind on that little state of fact. “you shouldn’t listen to everything you hear. eventually, you’ll find yourself in a quite… unpleasant position by doing so.” his lips pursed together for a moment. “just a little food for thought.”

@hellfirebound  asked for  buffy !

sometimes you stumble upon a dead body late at night, and you just have to deal with it. for buffy, this is just another saturday night. when you make friends with the denizens of the dark instead of killing them like you’re supposed to, sometimes it happens when others are watching. on this particular night, she’s distracted, doesn’t realize she’s not alone until she can almost feel the nearness of him, causing her to whip around with her crossbow in hand, finger about to squeeze the trigger as it comes into contact with his chest and she sighs at the realization that this is not a threat to her plans after all.

❛   jesus, ky, i could’ve killed you !   ❜     possibly an exaggeration if their first meeting is any indication of the lack of power her normal weapons have against him, but her heart is pounding in her chest as the relief washes over her.       what are you doing here ?   i’m busy.   ❜   the crossbow falls back to her side, and buffy moves back to the body laying motionless in the alley, the possible solutions running through her head. it’s dark, there’s no one else around  (  that she knows of  )  now that he’s here, however, maybe he can help.      look, it’s not like i need your help with this, but i mean ——now that you’re here, wanna give me a hand ?

❛ could have,  should have, but won’t. ❜ for once, ky’lar was in a quite rare decent mood. for once, he didn’t seem to be quite as angry as he usually was. maybe that was just a… mistake on his part, but quite frankly? he didn’t care – not at the moment at any-rate.

❛ if you wanted to kill me, you wouldn’t have stopped yourself. ❜ either way,  they had been through this song and dance before. been through it to the point where ky didn’t believe- nor did he think she was a threat ( at least to himself ).

❛ besides, ❜ he said, folding his arms across his chest,  and then clapping his hands together for a few moments.  ❛ i believe i just gave you a  hand, didn’t i?  ❜

Oh what he would do to reverse time and try again. Perhaps on the second pass the Norns would deal to him a kinder destiny, one where far less of those he cared about had to perish. But he wasn’t like the wizard or the mad titan he now vowed to kill; the time stone wasn’t in his possession, and so the flow of current events would stay the same.

On the decision to stay or leave, Thor didn’t need to give it much thought, for he had his answer prepared well in advance. “No. We shall depart and make way for someplace far less…familiar than here.” Thanks to Stormbringer and its bifrost enchantments, he had the range to traverse the universe like never before. The only real problem arose when deciding where exactly to go.

“Come,” he bids, taking hold of the axe which awoke with his touch; blue flames engulfed the hammer side of its head, whilst jolts of electricity, harmless to a lord of thunder, sparked periodically all around the weapon. “Stay close or else risk being dismembered.” Which was effectively a white lie, if for the fact that Thor wasn’t sure what would happen should Ky’lar not stay by his side whilst they teleported.

A nod was given in return; anywhere was better than here. Earth was in shambles and Ky knew that staying back in Meph’s realm was more than likely the best bet. The only problem was that he didn’t know if he could – not when it was clear he was better suited here. Better suited trying to fix this mess than run back home just to watch it unfold.

“An’ don’t worry. I don’t plan on dying today.” Or anytime soon if he was being honest, but in his mind? Being with Thor was far better than anywhere else in the nine realms and beyond. Especially with what had transpired with Thanos.

“Either way,” he said, making his way towards, and then standing right beside Thor.  “Let’s see what the universe has in store for us.” At best it would mean a fight… at worst? Well, he wasn’t going to think about that… not yet at least.
