“I should’ve known.”

“You’re losing your edge, John,” he said, grin spreading across his lips. “Finding yourself like this, but you can’t stop it now.” Maybe he could and  while Ky almost wanted John to fix this mess… there was a part of him that didn’t care either way. That was how detached from reality he was these days. “Soon enough someone will figure out the gate’s open and when they do? Let’s just say… things are going to get very interesting around here.”

“This was my plan all along.”

Ky should have known better than to actually trust Constantine, but he thought the benefits out weighed the risk.

Now, it didn’t look like he’d be able to wiggle his way out of this one. Not entirely at least. Given enough time, he may have been able to, but it even so it would have to bee a feat.

“Was it now?“ His lips pursed into a thin-line. “I sure hope the reward is worth it.”

“I should’ve known.”

“And yet here we are,” Ky said, arms folding calmly across his chest. “You let down your guard, Norrin.” A pause. “You let it down and I took advantage of it. True, you might you’re safe here… around me, but at any moment I could hand you over to Mephisto.” Not that he would, but Ky still wanted to issue the threat. If only so Norrin would know exactly what he was capable of. “Do remember that.”

“How cute. Struggle all you want, you won’t be leaving this place.”

This was the last time he would ever trust John to get him out of a rough spot. While Ky thought things were going well… he ended up falling right for this trap. Maybe his actions had been a little too erratic these days, but it didn’t justify being stuck in a cell like this… right smack in the middle of nowhere.

“Fuck you.” While Ky could have said more, he was going to be more direct as he leaned his back against a wall; if he couldn’t break through whatever was hold him in? He’d have to wait it out, but that could be impossible given his choice. “Can’t even face me  yourself; you have to hide behind,” he gave a gesture to place he was in. “this.” A grin soon spread across his lips. “Growing weak on me, Johnny?”

“Got a rope?”

An eyebrow lifted at the question. Who cared a rope with them? Sure, he may have knew were a few were – granted they were brand new and short -, but the question was on the top of his mind was why did anyone need one? Besides himself. “And if I do?” Maybe he should have kept his mouth shut and simply said no, but there was no fun in simply that.

“It was necessary.”

Ky knew the words well; he’d heard it before from his family and even his so called friends. Everyone thought they knew what as right – especially when it came to Ky- and usually it caused more harm than good. He wasn’t one to trust – didn’t even enjoy having friends or allies.

No, Ky’lar enjoyed being alone, and just when he thought he could get used to being around someone – anyone – it all went down the tube. The betrayal was harsh and straight to the point. A point that was proved in their words; he wasn’t wanted. Not here, not now, and not any other time.

“No it wasn’t,” he said, hands sliding into his jacket pockets. “You just couldn’t wait to get rid of me.” Of course, whether it was true or not didn’t matter. He was pissed and whatever destruction he caused after leaving would be on Xavier’s head – Not Ky’s.
