“Yeah well, I think the easiest thing to do is to suck it up. We all make our version of mistakes.” Sometimes more than others. “You either learn to live with them or you don’t. Either way? Doesn’t matter to me.”

Could he move? Why yes, he could simply move so she could get up, but why? He didn’t see any reason to do so -let alone anytime soon. So, he gave a quick grin as he ran a hand under her chin. “Only if you say please.”

“then consider me… gazing from afar then.” a slight smirk spread across his lips. “unless, you consider that staring as well.”
he knew bringing her here was a bad idea. demon bars usually were, but he’d hoped she wouldn’t get too indulgent in the drinks. especially since he was here on business. so, he left her alone for maybe ten minutes to go to a back room – simple deal, nothing extremely dangerous, and then upon coming back to the general area he sighed.

“was i really gone that long?” he asked, running a hand over his face. “one more – just one.”

“i can get them out myself.” of course he couldn’t; bullets were lodged in his back and he’d lost loads of blood. he’d heal – or so he thought -, but the problem was getting them out was only the start. “just…” he hissed. “try to be more careful!”

“——-Just my luck,” he said, rolling his eyes. “Let me guess, i’m grounded again?”

he shouldn’t have let her see that; shouldn’t have let his human guise fade away like that. oh, how ky was lucky she didn’t just run away right then, but he needed to let everything slip away for a while. he needed to relax – that was only a short while ago, but he still knew explanations were in order. he had to say something – anything, but he couldn’t even get out proper words. not right now at least as a hand ran over his face. “— don’t ask,” he said through a few coughs. “just don’t ask.”

As much as Ky enjoyed Peter’s company… there was limits to what he could actually take. A reason to why he was hoping for a night alone. The only problem was it didn’t exactly turn out that way.
He glanced down to Peter for a moment. An urge occurred to him to push the other off of him, but at the last minute he hesitated and ended up patting Peter’s head.
Seemed like someone was getting attached.

And now you have a slightly purring demon. You won’t get rid of him now.

of course they did. it was only natural, but the problem was that wasn’t the plan. ky could have used them for his own ends. however, as that plan seemed to be out of reach for the moment, and so he had to change tactics. “and yet… here i am empty handed. a month’s work of effort down the drain – thanks to you.”
