“Does it matter?” Ky didn’t think it did – the truth to one could be a lie to another. He simply said what he thought was needed. Sure, it might not have been exactly what they said, but that wasn’t the point. “I stated what you were thinking.”

he wasn’t even doing anything drastic; just following her. no violence, no anger, and no need to reveal his true form – not yet. ky was going to ask a question, but her outburst made him re-think his actions. at least for the moment. “— look. i just.” there was a shake of his head. “i just want to talk.”

it was such an interesting question wasn’t it? just how did he knew her name? oh, the answer was simple enough to state, but why answer so quickly? he might as well ‘drag’ his feet on this. “oh, i get around,” he mused out lowly. “is that a problem?”

“i want hell.” the words didn’t even sit right on his tongue. hell was a large and vast. he needed to be a bit more specific and yet he couldn’t. not yet anyways. “what i did – what i’ve always done- has been to obtain my birthright, jess. if you have a problem with that… maybe you should go back to your nice human life and stay out of mine.”
bobby was right – he was just a boy trying to be something more. by human standards he was an adult, but by demon? still a child. a child who was just starting to understand who they were and that was all that mattered.
for as long as he lived, he’d still be a child; not until most of the people he knew were long gone. a reason to why he didn’t want to accept reality. he wanted to prove he was more – well, more than what he was, and could be worthy of obtaining a throne or even the throne of hell in time.
of course, he was a long ways off from that; he couldn’t even hold his own against bobby. how was he going to take on the best of demons? luck was one thing… this was another. a reason to why instead of getting angry – this time – his emotions shifted to an icy hot.

“this boy,” he said, taking a step forward, “can do things you can scarcely imagine.” or maybe bobby did know what he was capable of. either way, he didn’t care – not really at least. all that mattered was getting his point across. “and when the time comes… i’m quite certain we will have loads of fun down stairs – my treat.”

“end this?” ky couldn’t help, but roll his eyes at that statement. end this little game of his? not a chance – didn’t she know who he was? maybe she just forgot for a moment… most people did when it came to him. most people forgot he was a prince of hell and took orders from no one… not even his family. “not a chance.”

his entire body was covered in bruises; an angel blade sliced deep into his back and had been lodged there until jess pulled it out. it stung worse now than it did before it was removed. he’d heal, but it would take days… days he didn’t truly have. “i’ll be fine,” he said, downing a bottle of whiskey. “don’t worry about me.”

“Do it, I dare you.” And there he goes; sticking his tongue out at her one more time.

“i forgot how uneducated you are.” not that ky was much better in most cases, but he knew for a fact he was much better than a human. “i have a birthright – a calling as you will – in day’s past, a series of trials were put in place to see if the one was worthy of a throne.” or the only throne that mattered in his mind. “since most of the older demons are dead… the only way to complete it is with your help.“
he did in-fact know what he did. it was all too simple really. all ky did was put some plans in motion and trigger one version of the end of the world. someone could stop it- sure, he actually expected them to do so, but that didn’t mean it would be easy.

“do you realize,” he said, glancing at his gloved hand as if he was bored. “i know exactly what i’ve done. you just… didn’t care enough to stop me.”
