“Because i’m saying what you mean – simply that.”

“Because i’m saying what you mean – simply that.”

“And I find myself at a lack of caring,” he said bluntly. “Their lives are meaningless.”

“Must you use something that -” he was about to go off about how the line was overused, but instead, Ky rubbed at his temples. He wasn’t in the mood to deal with an argument. Not now at least. A reason to why he grunted to change his tone. “Surely you can come up with something better than that.”

he just stares for a few moments in silence. he honestly didn’t know how to react. nor was he able to process it completely. thus, he stuttered for a few moments before finally getting the words out. “w-w-what was that for?”

All asking ever did was cause more problems. It was how he got into this mess wasn’t it?By asking questions and getting no answers, Now, he ended up-having more blood than he ever wanted on his hands.
There was no coming back from that. Not now, not ever. What was done was done. Ky just had to live through the storm that came after the fact. A storm he never wanted any part in, but had to learn to master all the same.
“All questions and answers have ever given me is pain. I don-. No, I refuse to go down that road again.”
There was a reason Ky’lar avoided sleeping when if all possible. To sleep meant opening himself up to nightmares that only ended when he woke. Sometimes, he could black them out if he drunk excessively, but even then… it didn’t help much.

“And what if I refuse to wake up? What then?”

“And I still don’t see why I should care.” More importantly, the thought of why Ky needed to care was on his mind, but he didn’t ask that. No, he wasn’t going to waste his breath on something like that.

“Yes, actually, I was.” Not that it mattered to Ky. One person vs his own comfortableness was a small price to pay. He could have done something – maybe even offered a hand, but why do that? It’s not like he cared. “Is that a problem?”

“would it matter if i was?” a simple question; one meant more out of pure curiosity than anything else for the moment. “sanity is something many have attempted to grasp, but rarely obtain for long.”

“You wouldn’t listen even if I explained.” He was too exhausted for this; explaining anything took time and more so patience. Ky didn’t have the time for that – nor did he want to make it explaining everything. No, he’d just do what he always did; avoid and leave. “Anyways… you win,” he said, sliding his hands into the back pockets of his jeans. “I’m going back home.”
