“Were we?” Nathan asked, turning towards him. “Because if I’m honest, this whole damn time it feels like I’ve had to be doing everything with an arm tied behind my back.” He stated. “Sure, this was supposed to be simple, nothing ever is, but it’d be a lot better if you weren’t keeping so many damn secrets.”

“it also would be better if you did your job,” he said bluntly, “i don’t need to explain everything.” rather, he didn’t feel like he had to. after-all, in his mind wasn’t exactly important to disclose everything, “if it helps? i may have pissed off a few powerful people… that’s all.”

bythemoonslight:

“Alright, so I don’t want to be one.” He said. He’d seen it to much…Reverse Flash, Zoom-Savitar?. Nothing good happened when a speedster wanted power. “I think I could handle it, besides. I’m not in this fight alone.” He had a team.

“You might not want to be one now, but eventually… someone decides their
better than everyone else,” he had been through it before, and it never ended
well… for anyone involved. “Either way, you might not be alone, but from my
experience, you’re more alone with people backing you than anything else.”

Nathan made a grunt, shaking his head eyes inspecting the cage they’d been thrown in to. “Always the expert, aren’t I.” He muttered, mostly to himself. “Something doesn’t feel right…” He admitted. “They’re different from what I’m used to, and I can’t place it.”

“Oh, that’s just GREAT!” It was a mixture of anger and sarcasm, but all the same… he didn’t like the situation that they were in. Of course it had to be a cage – one that he couldn’t exactly get out of easily. JUST HIS LUCK, “I really thought we were GETTING somewhere here.”

That brought a chuckle out of him, “they sure know how to get everywhere.” He agreed with a shake of his head.

Nathan let out a breath and nodded, tucking his notebook into his back pocket and securing the gun in his holster. “Ahh just another day in the office.” He stated as he headed out, leading the way from their little shack and into the dense trees and vines around them

“they also know just where to bite… to make it hurt like hell.” and that was just the start of things. he didn’t like bugs, it didn’t matter what kind they were, he really disliked them, and would kill them any chance he got.

of course, he didn’t really have the effort to do so now — he just wanted this over with, and then he could ( eventually ) move on from there, “for you at least.” he said as he followed.

“Yeah, of course you can.” She said, though wasn’t convinced to much. “If I thought you were actually trying to break me, I think the tone of our conversation would be much different.” She said, fists curling at her hips.

“You doubt me.” Ky doubted himself most the time, but then again, it didn’t mean that he wasn’t going to at least attempt to prove himself. If not strictly to her – backing up his claims worked wonders as well, “You shouldn’t.”

Peter just stared at him before biting his lip to give himself time to respond. “So…you know plans of someone else who’d like to burn the city? I mean, I know there’s a lot out there that would. But, even then.” He blew out a breath and chuckled. “You sure like to talk in weird hypothetical’s.” He shook his head. “So, I don’t have to worry about you burning down my city then, right.”

“There is nothing saying that I won’t burn it down,” he said bluntly. Of course, at the same time, there was nothing saying that he would either, “Then again, I might leave that job for someone else. You know, someone who wears a mask, and has looser morals.”

“Of course not, I’m not a god.” He stated, though it killed him when he failed. He knew it happened. “But more times than not, when I try, win or lose I’ve managed to save someone, lessen the damage in some way.”

“What do you care if I chose wisely or not?” He asked.

“Are you sure about that? You have speed, some would say that your abilities make you a god.” Of course, at the same time, that was just an opinion, “Either way? I don’t care if you chose them wisely. I just care if you’re strong enough to take someone far more tougher than me on.”

“You do seem to be the one with more experience in these situations.” Of course, if these were just hired goons, Ky would have been able to take care of them himself. Yet, they weren’t, these were something else – an unknown, and it was why he was being – for the most part – careful, “So, it’s all up to you.”

“Look, what does it matter?” She finally asked. “Sure, everyone has a breaking point. You wont find mine, it’s that simple.” Kara stated. “Are you trying to find it? See if you can work it to your advantage? Because I can assure you, if I ever do break. You want to be very, very far away.”

“Just very far away?” A faint chuckle escaped his lips, “Relax, I can take care of myself.” Usually, “’Course, if I was trying to find your breaking point? I would do more than simply talk.” Either way, he wasn’t about to attempt to find it…. at least at the moment, Maybe later though.

Nathan gave a long breath, pinching the bridge of his nose. He was really going to hear it from Sully after all this-if he made it back. Hell…he’d probably hear it from him even then.

“Alright buddy, let me do my thing and we can get going.” He said, picking up a few maps and shuffling them around. “I sure hope you like the jungle.”

“I’ve been there a few times. Usually too many bugs for my liking.” Not to mention he hated having to go deep into a jungle that more than likely was plotting against him, but that was besides the point.

“Either way, I can get used to it. Just lead the way.”
