“Lucifer didn’t ‘fix’ anything. He only broke what was already good and perverted my father’s creations.” Castiel didn’t know why he was continuing to arguing this point, considering that he knew there was no use in trying to reason with anything demonic, but still. He wasn’t about to allow slights against the Host without fighting back.
However, the idea that angels were anywhere near the level of demons was simply laughable. “If one were to say that, they would be misguided. Demons are parasites who thrive on the misery and torture of others. Angels serve God and exist to protect the righteous. We serve a purpose; demons serve Hell.”
“Angels serve Heaven. It’s the same thing.” Well, not exactly, but it didn’t mean Ky wouldn’t try to make valid points – from his own twisted perspective. “You go on and talk about purpose, include bits about free will, and how i’m misguided, but do you even listen to yourself?”
Leave it to Ky’lar to pick a fight ( of sorts ) with an Angel, “Humanity isn’t good — they are flawed, murderous, and changeable beings. They look up to the sky for… guidance when all they have to do is depend on themselves.” Ironic in all ready compared to how demons did the same thing — always waiting for their ‘god’ to be freed.
Then again, Ky doubted there existed a Lucifer at all – maybe thousands of years ago, but not now. He was just another disappointment to his creations and that was if he even existed at all. “i don’t serve hell. i serve myself.”
“Angels and humanity are God’s creations. Demons were created by Lucifer. They are perversions of what should be, and there is nothing redeemable about them.” Arguing with semantics with a demon, whether half or otherwise, was most likely a pointless endeavor, but Castiel wasn’t about to let that insult slide past him. “You may not be able to choose how you were born, but you were given the free will to choose what you make of it.”
The angel narrowed his eyes. “Read the Bible. Angels are soldiers; we aren’t here to forgive you for anything, nor do we owe you acceptance. If you choose to consort with demons, then the time may come to stop you.”
“at least lucifer did something right.” though, right, and better were not the same thing in the demon’s mind? it still sufficed to the same thing, “god – if there even is one, may have created everything, but he fixed what was broken.” well, not exactly broken, but enhanced them. true, not everything lucifer had done was good, but still… everything was a point of view in all reality.
“you might not like what he did — i don’t either on most days, but some could say you’re worse then demons.” at least demons could be decent and helped people. angels, from what he knew were just self-righteous – lucifer excluded from that, of course. “i, on the other hand, don’t believe in free will.” rather, he didn’t think it truly mattered in all reality.
“That’s not a threat. It’s a promise.” If he had any other options here, he certainly wouldn’t have been working with a demon– and he’s still not particularly pleased about the arrangement at all. Angels and demons don’t work together. Demons are abominations, and that particular opinion isn’t about to change anytime soon. But Castiel knows that if he tries to get out of this on his own, it’s not going to end well. For the time being, he’s going to have to swallow some of his pride while keeping his wits about him. “I’m still an angel. So I suggest you continue not to try anything.”
“It’s a promise now?” He couldn’t help, but to roll his eyes at that, “Well, good for you,” he replied sarcastically, “Maybe you should say a few more of them.” In truth, Ky’lar shouldn’t have been so harsh on Castiel, but as the facts stood, he was an Angel, and Ky was a demon. Getting along or even working together ( for any length of time ) wasn’t going to happen easily…. even if they were stuck in this, “In the meantime, you can make a promise to find a way to get us out of this situation, yes?”
“Of that, I have no doubt,” If Ky’lar had a real choice in the matter, he would have taken it upon himself to kill the other for pure spite. Fighting an Angel wasn’t easy, he learned that lesson already, and wasn’t going to have a repeat of it, “’Course, if I wanted to try something, I would have already taken my chances, and one of us wouldn’t be here anymore.”
“I’m aware of what you are.” Of course he knows; Castiel is an angel of the Lord. He doesn’t need a demonstration, and he doesn’t need a demon (or maybe not a full demon, in this case, but he seems to be a demon in every way that matters) lecturing him about names and titles. It’s hard to argue with a soul or a true face, and he knows exactly what he’s been staring down. “Regardless of what you sat you are, you are an abomination.”
❝ humanity is the only abomination that can think of. unless, you’re talking about yourself and your kind. ❞ a slight smirk pulled at his lips for a few moments as he made his way forward,
❝ i might not be fully anything, but what you call an abomination, i call wasn’t given a choice —- you spend enough time around a species and you might start acting like them. ❞
❝ however, i’ve always wondered; are all angels like this? i thought they would have been far more… forgiving and accepting. i mean, i didn’t chose this —- i simply decided to make this life my own, and if that mean’s tearing apart someone to get what i want? so be it.❞
“I’m not going to repeat myself.” That’s about as definite a no as he can get. He doesn’t deal with demons, and he doesn’t care about the circumstances. Abominations are abominations, and he knows where his lines are. The threat doesn’t deter him either, and Castiel fixes him with a steady, level glare. “How would you feel if I were to smite you where you stand?”
❝ Do you truly want the answer to that little question, Angel? ❞ Every fiber in his body urged him to attack; to do the very thing that the Demon would end up regretting majorly. It would have been worth it, to actually show the other what he was capable of, but instead, Ky ended up staying exactly where he was,
❝ I might be many things, but Demon is only a title. Nothing more.❞
“I don’t care what you want.” He’s glaring now, with all the righteous fury that only an angel of the Lord can muster. Castiel may have his doubts, but there’s one thing that he still knows for certain: demons are abominations. “My answer is no.” // @hellfirebound ♥’d for a thing.
It wasn’t the answer he expected; to many, they would have thought about it before giving their final response. Usually, it was a no, but to be told outright? That was just plain rude, ❝ Your answer is no. ❞ The words were repeated simply to make sure he heard them right,
❝ How would you feel if I ripped off those wings of yours, hmm? ❞
“It isn’t Heaven’s job to protect humanity from itself. What you speak of– war, famine, sickness– they are beyond the scope of our protection.” It’s not that he enjoys seeing suffering; no, the truth is the opposite. Earth, and by extension humanity, are his father’s creations, and he finds them beautiful. God has a plan, though, and he doesn’t claim to know His will. If something is to happen, it is that way for a reason. “Whether or not you believe that the Earth is protected is not my responsibility, but I can give you a demonstration if you continue down this path.”
❝ humanity was your god’s failed creation. that much i’ve managed to pick up over the years, but that’s your god. not mine, angel. ❞ not that the demon truly placed a belief in a ‘god’ like figurehead, but that was not exactly the point. it didn’t matter who created the world or humanity, but rather, if there was a full fledged god, they wouldn’t have let earth turn into this pit of substitution.
❝ if earth was truly protected, you would have got rid of all demons long before i was created. ❞ it was then he should have stopped — quit while he was ahead, but instead, the demon took another step forward,
❝ then again, the only reason you’re walking earth is ‘cause someone thought it was a good idea to let you back down here. who was it? should i take a guess? ❞
“Earth has always been under Heaven’s protection, regardless of what your kind chooses to believe.” He should know; his own garrison was tasked with protecting it, after all. It’s been some time since he’s taken a vessel and walked amongst humans like he is now, but that doesn’t mean that he hasn’t been protecting his father’s creations from the ill intentions of creatures such as demons. His blade is still in his hand, and he raises it in warning. “Leave, or I will lay you to waste.”
❝ you say that now, but where we’re you when cities burned, when plagues swept across countries killing thousands, and where were you when people died due to my mistakes? ❞ honestly, he didn’t expect an answer, but he thought his words would get the point across that angels did nothing rather than protect humans,
❝ earth may be under the host’s protection, but i’ve never seen it —- not even before i was reduced to this. ❞
