he scoffs at that, dismissing the idea rather than waste any time thinking about it. the only thing you want from me is to be on my knees. or to be silent but the first happens a lot more often. he wouldn’t mind it as much since he sometimes likes doing it but Ky didn’t really give him much of a choice. it’s either that or chains and hell. that’s the thing, Ky. you don’t ask. I’m never going to do what you want if you’re ordering me to do it.

at least caleb was right – that was all that ky really needed out of him. to have someone that could stay on their knees. maybe he should have asked or maybe he shouldn’t have found himself attached to the other. all the same, there was no going back now. not when the damage had already been done. “i don’t need to ask,” a simple statement, but one with power all the same. “you do as you’re told or else.” he was getting tired of these games.

“better men than you have tried and failed so yeah, I’m sure. his allegiance has only been given once and once was more than enough. it doesn’t matter what Ky’lar does to him – he can drop him in another volcano for all he cares – he’s still not going to win. the only weapon capable of killing him has already been destroyed and there’s no way to get your hands on another. he may be his father’s son but he’s not dumb. I wouldn’t be so arrogant; not even you can achieve the impossible.

“oh, i’m quite sure that i could try.” even if he ultimately failed to do so, he would have attempted it, and more than likely found out what didn’t work. “i mean, it’s not arrogance, caleb. it’s more that…i’m capable of several things – sometimes, you just don’t know them until the time is right.” not that it mattered – ky was very close to just throwing him in the pit, but this time… he wasn’t going to take him out. no, he’d let him stay here, and then decide what to do when he had a clear head. “you can be sure about that.”

❝ Are we still friends? ❞ (ana)

it was funny that she thought of him like that.
they were not friends. ky didn’t even want to put a label on what they were, but he knew they were not that. he didn’t even know what the word meant in reality.
“oh, you thought we were friends? i must have missed the memo.” though, it was impossible to tell if he was serious or just sarcastic as the two seemed to blend in together.
