she’s out of arguments as far as why they shouldn’t though she’s not entirely certain what makes her voice any to begin with. he has this look in his eye that says he’s going to do it either way no matter what she did. he’s just inviting her along because they always talk about thinning the population. ❝okay but later you have to explain to me how it all works. what’s the closest game we can go to?❞
it was actually quite amusing how she thought he would explain everything : finding something with decent results wasn’t easy, he might have wanted a quick action response, but he was willing to wait a while for this one. after-all, even if only a handful of humans died, it still meant a handful less that he wouldn’t have to deal with,
❝ ——- i have a few idea’s. the bigger the better in this case. ❞
ky didn’t believe her : no one ever was alive around him — not for long at any rate. she just was the one exception to that little fact and yet… he had fallen for a good reason. no matter what he was, he cared for her —- a reason to why he wanted to get as far away as possible. that way, there was no way he could ever mess it up,
❝ —- i don’t care. ❞ maybe it was harsh, harder than he absolutely needed it to be, but he wasn’t going to change his mind….he couldn’t care…it would only cause far more pain than necessary.
❝ or what —— you’ll put me in chains? you’re going to do that anyway so what difference does it make if I’m obedient? ❞
❝ actually, i was going to throw you to HELL, but the chains are on for REASONS, caleb. you do what i want, everything i want, and i can ASSURE you that you’ll never be put in chains again. ❞ a lie, a bold one, but one he didn’t care about.
❝ it would be nice if you actually did as i asked sometimes, caleb. that way, you could be rewarded, and out of chains.❞
his throat’s sore that swallowing itself is a difficult endeavor and Ky’s hand wrapped around it didn’t help. you can’t break what’s already broken and someone else had already beaten him to the punch a long time ago. if they hadn’t then maybe he’d be more submissive yet he had his doubts on that one. it’s not in his nature to follow commands and he’s too reckless to care about the consequences of disobeying. ❝neither do I.❞ with one good shove he pushes Ky away, thankful for his enhanced strength. ❝you’re always telling me to get on my knees so maybe it’s your turn for a change.❞
if this had been any other person, maybe the demon would have played just a bit nicer; they would have folded eventually. yet, caleb was a different story entirely, and as such, his fingernails dug deeper into the other’s flesh. as his grip tightened, his patience started to fail as well,
❝ i don’t get on my knee’s for anyone, caleb. let alone for a little slave like you. ❞
plagues were complex, but easy to create, and they bounced from person to person. an earthquake would be harder to control and starting one would be difficult — panic is one thing, but not when it’s possible to get caught under a building yourself,
❝ —— yeah, not my STYLE. ❞
the one thing she can give him credit for is that he’s always been straight with her. he hasn’t hidden the worst parts of himself, or used her to achieve his own agendas to the best of her knowledge and that’s more than she could say for most. while she wouldn’t declare that she trusts him, he doesn’t make her as suspicious. maybe they’re on borrowed time but so what? they can still make the best of it. there’s no rule that says he has to leave things on bad terms with her, right? ❝I’m alright with that — it might come as a surprise to you but I like having you around.❞
she might have enjoyed his presence, but he was being blunt. eventually, he would leave, and wouldn’t come back. it was easier for him that way : cutting off all ties before someone could get too attached. he hated it, hated that he had to run away each time he managed to get comfortable around another, but then again, the demon wouldn’t have had it any other way,
❝ i highly doubt that, but for now, i’ll stay. you can count on it.❞
if this had been any other time, maybe ky’lar would have been more angered by the statement that was obviously truth. the only problem was that he was far too exhausted to pick up an argument,
❝ at least then you won’t be able to speak and your annoying voice will be silenced. ❞
❝ don’t forget that you’re going back in chains the moment you stop being amusing. ❞ while it was true that the chains, for the most part, haven’t been used lately, ky’lar wanted to see what he would do with this ‘freedom’ or… if he had to take that slightly earned freedom back.
