Iron coated bullets now loaded into the weapon, he keeps himself at a comfortable distance of about two hundred and fifty yards out. A grin tugs at his lips as Ky’lar falls into his line of sight. While this wouldn’t be nearly as satisfying as gutting him with a blade, it would be immensely satisfying to watch his body drop so easily.

Besides, this wasn’t meant to be a death sentence. Just a friendly warning to the demon. The rest would come later. For now, he lets out a soft exhale and squeezes the trigger.

it was highly unusual for ky to have an actual good day. especially when things hadn’t been awful for the last few weeks. trying to stay out of trouble for eve was harder than he thought – before, he could go a few days to weeks with out doing anything harmful, but now? it was harder than he expected.

a reason to why he was hoping to relax with a simple beer before going back to his usual deals. that way, maybe he could focus on what he did well, and not on trying to avoid trouble — even if it followed him everywhere like a plague.

three…..
two….
one…
bang!

that was when everything changed. when the warning shot was just too big of a ‘warning’. the demon despised guns – not just due to the fact they were loud, but rather, they were unnecessary.

falling to his knee’s as he slammed into the ground with a large thump wasn’t the worst of it. nor was the ringing in his ears that he couldn’t get to stop. it was the blood. his own blood that came from the gushing wound in his chest.

if he was human, this would have most surely been lethal, but it still hurt. more to the point, it hurt like a bitch, and he expected another shot to come from somewhere else or even a hunter to appear from the shadows.

it had happened before, someone got onto him, and tracked him down. they knew hand to hand combat was out of the picture. so, they went with guns, and usually they didn’t last long.

however, this time around was different. it felt different at least. like this wasn’t the worst of it, but rather a warning of what was to come.
a warning that meant that he wasn’t safe.
it wouldn’t matter who or where he was.
he never would be safe.
not as long as someone was out for his head.

gripping his the wound, he focused on his breathing, and would deal with the pain later. in the state he was in, a human would passing out due to blood loss or dead.

good thing he wasn’t human, but that still didn’t mean he was out of the clear.
deep breath in.
deep breath out.
in..
out..

     “ i’ll have to deal-”
his words were cut off as he ended up crumbling to the ground. he could take it sure, but the body – no, the vessel, he couldn’t. thus, the body did what it could in the situation it was in.

it shut down.

as for how long, even ky didn’t know, but he would make it out of this. it just would take time, and hopefully whoever shot him didn’t come back to finish the job.

for once, ky’lar really didn’t want to die.

@dusttcdusk      —-> from ask!

while she’d known taking him in would be no easy task, this was beyond anything she could have expected. body slumps, head hangs limp. was he doing this just to spite her? it was beginning to feel like he was at this point. her whole body begins to crumble. perhaps it was time she just accepted his fate as well as her own. after all, she’d already lived far too long a life.

no, i’m not. but it appears that i’m incapable of stopping you from creating needless destruction at every turn. you win, ky’lar. you want the world to set ablaze so badly? do it. there’s nothing i can do to stop you. i can’t save someone who doesn’t want to be saved.

ending the world wasn’t in his play book — it happened due to the fact he had an opportunity. as long as everything wasn’t stopped, it would happen in a matter of weeks, and time would run out… for everyone. it was so simple. all he had to do was wait it out and avoid anyone trying to find him.

‘i’ve wanted to burn the world for years,’ rather, he wanted to cause something world shattering — maybe then his need to cause violence would cease. maybe then… he wouldn’t be itching all over all the time. maybe then he could have some peace where he felt right in his skin. maybe then….he wouldn’t have to keep fighting and could fully relax. ‘wanting to be saved has nothing to do with it, mother. i was made for this.’

dusttcdusk:

at this point, she had begun to consider putting a tracking beacon on ky’lar. one that would alert her each time he found himself surrounded by hunters. too bad the technology didn’t exist yet. perhaps she could consult with a witch one of these days. no doubt someone had to have something close to a solution for this seemingly unending issue.

ky’lar james richardson, what the fuck have you done now? though she can’t know for certain what he has done, she can already feel the supernatural energy not far off. whatever he did, there seemed to be a world of trouble heading straight for the both of them.  you need to tell me this instant. i can’t prepare for a storm half blind. what kind of trouble did you get yourself into this time? what is coming for us?

ky knew he shouldn’t have gone that far. more to the point, he shouldn’t have even thought about the simple action, but it was all too tempting to simply let the opportunity pass by. no, he took it, and now would have to suffer the consequences of his actions.

of course, it wasn’t until his mother said his full name that everything started to feel real. more to the point, ky knew that there would be actual consequences to his actions, and that it involved more than just himself. he had dragged it down on everyone around him… including her.

‘ the apocalypse, ’ he said bluntly. ‘ a version of it at least, happy? ’

a scoff escaped his lips. of course she wouldn’t answer his question honestly. if she did, there would no doubt be anger depending on the answer, and that in itself was dangerous. if he lost control of his temper, there would no doubt be several people killed in his rage. a reason to why keeping his cool was needed – especially now.

‘—- yeah, give me another.’ he didn’t want to end things there, but with a sigh, he did. that way, maybe drinking down the rest of the alcohol in the place would sooth his nerves or something like that.

and look how well that turned out for me. paradise is a fucking myth, ky. it’s never what it seems to be. there’s always a price to pay even if you are pure of heart and come with good intentions. in the end, it always turns to shit.

that’s not my problem. every time i almost get something it turns to shit so fast i can’t stop it. even if i could? i would pay any price… any price so maybe it won’t. at least once.

he thought that his mother already knew about what he had just done. sure, he shouldn’t have been actively trying to spark the attention of hunters or even angels, but there he was. more to the point, in his actions resulted in far more than a few angels, hunters, and anything in between wanting him dead. at least.. for what he had been trying to do.

since she hadn’t found out about it yet, that gave him a certain opportunity to fix the situation, and place the blame on someone else. after-all, he was supposed to be keeping out of trouble, but then again…. he never could resist the temptation after a while. ‘it’s nothing.’ a lie, it was more than simply nothing, but…that wasn’t the point, ‘ really. nothing at all.’ just the end of the world.
