breath caught within chest as the demon stepped right into his personal space and stayed there, fingers too close for comfort ; if he died like this, well, eli brought it upon himself, there was no denying that. the ‘wolf awaited the fire hot pain to slide along his neck but it never came ; no, instead, there are fingers around his throat and pressing just enough to cause heart rate to pick up, breath catching in his chest for an entirely different reason. a mere handful of seconds passed before eli lifted a hand to encircle the demon’s wrist, squeezing too tight – if he’s going to get choked out, then he’s going to break the other’s wrist before he lost consciousness.
death would be far too easy for the wolf; on the other hand torture and making eli wish he was dead could be done. as much as he despised the other, ky knew that death was a final option, and one he wasn’t going to officially settle on unless circumstances called for it. more importantly, ky could have very well made sure to rip the other’s throat out, but for now, he was just proving how far he would go. a reason to why he didn’t even make a noise as eli’s hand squeezed far more tightly against his wrist than he thought possible. it hurt – more than that though, it was a pain he could actually feel. a reason to why a few moments after the sudden bursting moments of pain, he let go. though, not before sending a nice kick to eli’s chest. no, this was more of a… payback for making ky feel something more than the usual hatred. it reminded him that he still could feel… to an extend ( even if he stated otherwise ).
the hiss reminded him too much like an angered cat and, if he just spared it the thought, eli could envision flattened ears upon the demon’s head. ridiculous image was tossed aside, eyes rolling, exaggerated tone coloring lofty words, “apologies for dirtying your sacred hand, ky’lar.” name was bitten out in a snarl, tone quickly melting to disgust, to unfiltered hatred ( an emotion he rarely let himself feel, as it meant bloodshed and death ). arms crossed chest and eyebrow cocked, shoulder rolling up into a shrug that was too nonchalant, too casual, words rolling off tongue drenched in sarcasm. “i didn’t realize you were looking out for my well-being.”
there was so much more that the demon could have done besides hiss. so much more, but he chose to do what came naturally. ky was already tense and amplified by wolf’s presence just made things worse. much worse in much reality. “you should watch your tongue,” he said bluntly, not even bothering to hide his distaste for the other. “or maybe you want it to be ripped out.” he didn’t care either way – just as long as he proved a point.
