Shifting once more as the demon decided to spell out the terms of their deal in more of a clearly defined power dynamic – one where he was in the subservient position – Sam’s instinctual reaction was to become a little more defensive, even though he knew he had no leverage. It was in that instant, however, that Ky’lar had tried to quell whatever doubts he had about this arrangement, the man assuring him that it wasn’t as bad as he thought.

The moment his associate switched gears and pitched him with what was basically a hit job, it was as if there was no trepidation beforehand. In the blink of an eye, Sam’s gaze had shifted into one of impassivity. A few targets? He could definitely handle that.

Nodding a bit at Ky’lar’s final words, he’d consider briefly before replying. “Give me whatever info you got on these targets, and I can get right to it.”

“There are three targets. Once they are… eliminated, we can move on to much larger things.” There was no doubt in the demon’s mind that Sam wouldn’t fulfill his end of the deal. Rather, he was simply taking precautions . for the sake of doing so.

“They all worked together several years ago, but now they’ve all gone their separate ways.” His lips pursed into a thin-line, “Now, each of them have… out-lived their usefulness.” That was one way to put it, but at the same time, it wasn’t the most accurate one. Rather, Ky just wanted to take the three of them out of the picture, and do his own version of damage control later on.

“I should warn you again, my name can’t be attached to this. “ Well, it could be, but it would have possibly just caused more problems. A reason to why he wanted to avoid them if necessary, “Other than that, they should all be at some meeting at a high end hotel. I was going to attend myself, but… I have other matters to attend to.”
