Now that was a simpler answer and one he could use to get something out of it. Vico gave a lopsided smirk and then nodded at the demon. “The book shall be easy to find with magic, ” he explained. “I deal with natural magic, so finding where on earth is located shall be of no trouble. But I will need your help: an image, a page, a description or the contents are necessary for me to cast the spell. It shall be of no problem to you.” Vico then stared at the man with his big clear eyes and then cocked his head to the side. “As for fighting an enemy bigger than you, I also got a solution, but I am not sure you’d like it.” The witch took a pause to analyze how far the other would go with his own plan. “Ever heard of familiar demons?”

“i can handle myself,” he had done so many times before and had no doubt he’d be able to do so again. he didn’t want nor needed anyone else getting involved. it would only backfire in his face and it was to that reason he wanted -no, he needed to be alone on this. more importantly, he wasn’t going to make any sort of deals that could turn out worse for him in the long run. this was his own burden and be damned if he wasn’t going to do this his own way. “i don’t need anything else than what i’m looking for. you can be assured of that.”

“Well, this is the part where you had stated your price,” the witch replied, with a smirk. “Let’s be honest here: I have nothing to gain to trust.” He admitted. “And let’s not sugar coat it either: trust is something that is earned. It takes years and it takes a good amount of skill to actually earn it.” Vico sighed. “Like I said, love is a skill. So it’s trust. And neither you or me want to spend so long trying to see if we are trustworthy.” The witch shook his head. “We’re taught to never trust witches in fairytales and there are at least 32 Abrahamic parables in which a deal with your kind leads only to demise. So, why should we trust each other?” Vico stated. “This is why I told you I wanted to make this as a professional matter. An exchange,” the witch took a step closer, looking into the eyes of the demon. “You give me something, I give you something.” A pause. Vico was always praised for having huevos, that is, a bravado that came from within and it was with you ‘till the day you died. It was needed if you were a witch, persecuted and executed. “Come now. State your price.”

It was all an exchange; one that should have been easy.

Ky’s own problem was that he held onto a human idea of decency at times. More importantly, it was that very sense that made this a bit difficult. All it was was a deal – he made several of them in the past, but this one wasn’t the same was the rest. This was far more… personal. It had far more value than just a simple deal for information or extending of a life. This was… a part of him. True, it wouldn’t be much – not like he cared anyway what would happen, but there was still that lingering doubt in his mind.

He soon sucked in a deep breath and let it out slowly. His mind raced about what he could possibly want. Restraint was one, but he wasn’t going to do anything that could cause him to be weak – he had enough problems as it was. As much as he was powerful…Ky could find himself backed into a wall when he overstepped his boundaries. It was the reason he kept his head down these days… anything to avoid being thrown in chains for who knows how long.

“the location of a book,” his words were much cooler than expected as he bit his lower lip for a few moments. “more importantly… the means to hold my own against a much stronger demon.”

“Let’s not beat around the bush,” Vico admitted with a nod. “My name is Vico Martínez. I’m a witch,” he added looking at the other male from the distance. He stared with his deep green eyes, contemplating the other for a few seconds. My, what a marvelous creature he was. “I know you’re a demon. I know of your paranormal nature,” the latino admitted. He then gave a smile. “And I need of your assistance in a spell I need to perform. I need a powerful catalizer that can help undo a curse set on me,” He nodded. “That’s where you enter.” Vico gave a pause. What he was asking was not only crazy but also, seemed to be tresppassing most rules for human decency and intimacy. But well, in the end, neither of them were fully human. Even if they looked like it. “And what I need from you is your seed. The essence of who you are.”

So, that was what it was. The Witch wanted something from him and it looked like ( so far ) he was going to get nothing in return. Pity, Ky may have actually considered it, but why should he offer assistance to someone he doesn’t even know? Even more so when he saw no benefit for himself. “Then you also know what my answer is already.” Or so he hoped at least – he didn’t do anything for free. Maybe if he cared about the one in question, but even then… it was rare that he’d even offer to do anything. Still, there was always a chance – slim, but a chance he’d still be able to do something besides just walking away. “Especially,” he said, sucking in a deep breath, and letting it out slowly, “when i don’t trust you.”

“I’m not looking for love,” The Witch admitted with a huff. “I understand what love is and I know that not everybody is capable of this,” he addressed taking a breath. “Just how some people can’t run or aren’t physically fit, some aren’t able to love,” he admitted. “Love is a skill. It takes effort. It requires discipline.” And a smile. Vico then offered a hand. “My name is Vico Martínez,” he nodded. “Perhaps we can be of assistance and keep this entirely professional, without pesky love getting in the way.”

humanity developed feelings for others they could relate to or cared for. even ky had been….guilty of such actions before. he knew how subtile emotions could effect someone – to the point of even ruining empires. a reason to why he distanced himself from them. there was no need for anything other than two emotions that burned brighter than any other; rage and hatred. at least… when the need called for it. “then what are you looking for?” a simple question as his hands slipped into his back pockets. “or, rather, what do you need me for?”
