“don’t mistake my composure for tolerance, thor.” there was already enough blood on his hands today and he didn’t need anymore; his abilities were going hey-wire. he couldn’t even stop myself from killing a kid who just wanted to get away. all ky was capable of right now was holding himself back, but even that wouldn’t last too long. “i’m giving you one chance to go.”
At every turn, he had tried to give the demon benefit of the doubt, invent excuses however imaginative to explain away his increasingly concerning actions as any merciful god would. Unfortunately, such reserves of consideration were found to have previously undiscovered limits, whittled down to nothing by a last, damming act; treating the lives of innocents as if they were a commodity to be expended.
“I understand,” he said, tone both flat and alarmingly neutral, no hint of warmth present nor the icy wrath of someone discovering they had been betrayed. He was Thor of the Thunders, a child of Asgard and of the soil of Midgard. And today, Ky’lar had disappointed him.
“I guess I was mistaken, Ky’lar. You have proven yourself to be born of the devil’s seed than treat your fellow mortals with respect and kindness, and in doing so you have damned yourself to thread upon a path I can no longer support or condone.”
“i never asked you to condone any of this!” nor did he actually ask to be alive, but here he was. living an existence that was difficult at best and agonizing at worst. if it was ky’s choice, maybe he wouldn’t have been stuck in-between humanity, and his more demonic half. maybe he would have been whole one way or another.
“what i was born of has no place here, thor! you talk all high and mighty about kindness, respect, and singing songs around a fucking campfire. sadly enough, it’s not for me!” by this point in time he was fuming and it was quite clear that his anger was starting to take hold of him.
“you say you understand? how can you – your life never has changed in a whole day. you don’t have the fucking fear of getting too close since your father or grandfather will destroy them.” his hands formed into tight fists. “you don’t have all of fucking hell keeping their eyes on you nor do you have abilities you couldn’t even hope to understand.”
“you want to know what i am, thor? i am damned. damned to be stuck in-between to different things and the only way to state that urge is to relieve it anyway i can.”
A landing a hit, Thor stays were he was, a voluntary punching bag for Ky to let loose his anger upon. Perhaps with its release, that venting of dark furies that could take hold of human and god alike, the male might return to a reasonable state, far less likely to jump at those who had the misfortune of using his full, mortal name.
Because of his decision to stay put, the blond felt his hand being snatched at but refused to budge, heels forming earthy troughs when the damp ground betrayed his firm footing. Rather than land another attack, he blinked whilst his head titled to the side, wondering what was he intending to gain from this snatch of limb.
No matter, he wasn’t going to wait to find out. Letting his left eye glow with bright white light, he channels electricity into the seized limb, delivering several jolts to Ky in a bid to stop their fight for now.
ky’lar wasn’t above using more of his… fatal abilities if it meant proving a point to someone. still, the use of his name – his full name, rather – sent him into a spiral of rage that even he couldn’t control.
a reason to why he wasn’t caring about what could go wrong. no, he was just focusing on what could possibly happen if he held on long enough. while his abilities were…volatile at best and sporadic at the worst…there was part of him that knew how much damage he could inflict if he got the timing right.
sadly enough, this was one of the few days his abilities ( from his father’s side ) were not entirely active. or it was quite possible he didn’t have enough time to properly activate them. in truth, not even ky understood half of what he could do, but all the same… that didn’t stop him from using them.
still, a moment later – not even enough time to squeeze the other’s flesh-, and he let out a massive scream. it was all he could do as he fell to his knees. the pain was unbearable, but it wasn’t like he could do anything about it. not when it felt like his entire body was being put through the blender.
suffice to say, ky was on the losing end of this fight, and there was no doubt that it had been stopped for now.
Comfortable with the thought of successfully detaining someone who he had deemed to be a threat to mortals, it took some convincing, but eventually the pieces fell into place. Getting the avengers to coordinating their efforts like the well oiled unit that they were to galvanise Ky’s capture was but a happy coincidence; he’d have still captured the demon one way or another, though at the cost of significantly more property damage.
“You may call it such if you wish, but I still stand by my actions.” Almost able to perceive the extreme fury that radiated from Ky at present like heat, he was immune to its effects, as well as the baneful words that followed. Such mannerisms were comparable to a child denied its greatest wishes, and even though the tantrum that had taken place led to a grave loss of life, it did little to shake his perception of the demonspawn.
“True, but do not use that as an excuse to hinder its significance.” It did, after all, serve as an important reminder; that the Avengers would rise to greet Ky’lar and his schemes, with Thor himself leading the charge.
“You were bested by superior foes, your plans stopped before further destruction was caused. I urge that you dwell on that thought for a while.”
“ taken down by your sorry little group of… what was the name? ” the question was posed as his arms crossed firmly behind his back. “ avengers was it? ” a slight grin pulled at his lips for a few moments, “ see, if i was fighting you, and you alone… you’d be the one stuck inside this cell. “
it was a bluff, not even ky knew what would have happened between the both of them, but it had been close between himself, and the avengers. well, so he thought at least. if he had more time, things would have gone better – still, he was in here, and the prime target of his frustrations was right before him.
“so, if we were to fight right now, i would make sure you stayed inside this cell for the rest of your days… or worse.” he could get his grandfather involved. it would be a bold move – one that he doubted he could come back from, but it would be worth it. especially if it meant putting thor in his place.
“do make sure you’re making the right choice, son of odin.”
The rain came down in a relentless torrent, chilling in its damp embrace. It caused the red cloak that hung about his shoulders to cling to his toned form, soaked through to the skin in absence of any garment covering his chest. Had he still retained a fine control over the elements, he’d have put a stop to the downpour long ago. But he was no longer the god of thunder. Or much else, for that matter.
Forcing himself to endure the shower, the axe held in his left hand replacing his mighty hammer, he followed a route between buildings, wishing to see where it would end. Rendered valueless he had little desire to do much else but wander Midgard, at least until he found a way to get offworld. Hopefully that time would come son enough.
Hopefully.
on most days, he would have preferred the rain over sunlight. still, it was quite clear to him that someone ( or something ) wasn’t going to make today easy for him. all he wanted to do was try to relax, but apparently that was just a bit too much to ask for.
still, if he could find an easy target – maybe that would cheer him up. well, maybe not by much, but it would clear his head. a fight… usually did when he had days when he simply was on the edge of who he was. all he had to do was find someone and take the leap — maybe then it would get him back in the right direction. well, hopefully.
“you shouldn’t be here,” he said, mainly as his own version of a warning as he leaned against a wall. “especially someone who looks… that bad.”
“i would have thought you’d be bored by now.” he flashed a slight smirk as he leaned against the wall. “i wouldn’t dream being in your position, thor.” still, spending day after day making sure ky was actually there was… boring. if it was him, he would have stopped a long time ago – still, he hoped the other had news of when he would actually get out of there. “so, what is the plan for today?”
“without hesitation.” the words didn’t come out as a slip of the tongue, but rather, it was a very truthful statement. more truthful than he had ever said before if he was being accurate. people were usable for his plans and it was a reason to why he used them as needed. thor being here was just an after-note, but he had said he was sorry. a reason why he had said he was sorry — quite a few times even. “every single time, thor. without hesitation.”
