“Consider your warning noted! I will…consider it as I close in on this ghost for the killing stroke!” So he was a dangerous sort– why should it matter? Thor had an equally, if not more horrifying reputation associated with this name, the sole difference being that he had not slaughtered a god in quite some time, though he supposes Zeus’ bastard is still sufficently suited for this dark purpose.

“A hero, you say? I like that term!” Such a word broaches a slasher-like smile, bright blue hues waxing with terrible menace as he digests the term and its connotations. He’d seen a few heroes rise and curry favour with their mortal brethren. Individuals who, luck favoured, were afforded the honour of having the rune forms of their names be inscribed upon unmarked stone for all of time.

“Quite right you are, mortal. Those with claims to divinity hold more influence over these lands than your petty  intellect can grasp. We need only to look to the fallen greek pantheon for what may transpire when gods die and the chaos their element goes through when robbed of an envoy on Midgard.”

From what Ky’lar knew of the Ghost, he was not just dangerous, but determined. A reason he wanted to stay as  far away from the other as possible. Lending aid could be  the same as helping – it was a thin-line, but hopefully one he’d be able to walk this time around.

“I can grasp things just fine,” he said bluntly. “Gods live and die – whatever they make doesn’t die, but wilts away as they do. Be it power or even influence.” In Ky’s case, he’d have rather been back home -away from this chaos-, but he wasn’t ready to return there yet. Maybe once this little spat with the Ghost was over, but even then… it was doubtful

“Heroic actions make you a hero in the minds of true mortals. A villain such as the Ghost could be a hero to many; taking down the Gods as if they were little more than sticks.” he could have said more – much more in-fact, but Ky didn’t exactly think it was necessary for the moment. “This Ghost of Sparta won’t be easy to defeat or even kill. If he’s taken down one series of Gods…what makes you think you’ll do any better?”

No, he most certainly wasn’t – a fact that filled Thor with a mixture of annoyance and apprehension. Kratos’ godslaying potential could not be underestimated, nor could he suffer the thought of letting him live. The gods had their weaknesses, just as mortals were prone to die before long, and whilst it meant that he had to include himself in such a group, it was all for the sake of finding the means to bring about the spartan’s downfall.

“Good, for he’ll soon taste the full extent of my wrath.” Brought about with lightning, fury and tempests aplenty, he wished only the worst for the god of war. “But let us not stand here and waste any further time on meaningless conversation. I desire the pale one’s head as penance for the blood of mine that was shed by this bastard’s hands.” But before he could do so, he’d need to gather allies. Worshippers were preferred – he could at least exploit their faith in him – but should this stranger proved to be the curious sort, he’d not say a word against letting him join his dark plight.

“What say you, worm of this rotten land? Are you to stand by my side, when I bring mine hammer crashing down against this Spartan’s skull? Or do you mean to object?”

“I don’t object, but I would like to issue a warning – fighting the Ghost is not going to be easy. He’s taken down a fair share of gods and other beings alike.” it wasn’t an objection – like he said, it was a warning. Ky might not have placed bets on Kratos or even Thor for that matter, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to help.

“If you fail, you’ll join the dead, but if you succeed… you’ll be more than simply a hero.” He was about to say a few more things, but it wasn’t the time nor the place for it – least of all when the odds of Thor killing the other were very low. Even if there was an army behind the God… it was still very very low.

“Either way, someone will have to stop him eventually…lest he’ll start coming for my kind and with-out gods… all of reality will crumble.”

As jarring as that possibility was, it was worth considering. Working proactively had, after all, saw him put an end to the soothsaying jotun giants before their prophetic visions could weave a displeasing tale. By rights, the same logic should thus apply to the one known as Kratos, too. A ghostly thorn in the side of the aesir gods.

“I must admit, your advice is sound. Though the matter of carrying it out may prove…problematic.” It wasn’t as though there was much that could be researched on Kratos, at least not this far north. The passage of time, as well as his reputation for killing the majority of individuals who had earned his acrimony had the additional effect of seeing his name and legacy omitted from scrolls, tableaus   and various other forms of media used by the ancient mortals to record their pitiful take on the life and times of the gods.

“He is not someone who is bespoken for. What gods knew of him fell at his hands, and there are no more humans left alive that can speak of the time he spent as a man living amongst mortals. So you can see the type of…quandary that I find myself at odds with.”

“There are far more ways to find out about a person than asking questions,” he said bluntly. “The gods may be dead, but he isn’t – is he?” Oh, Ky was starting to get at something, but he wasn’t about to voice his thoughts on the matter. No, he’d let that come out in time, and while his plan may be sound? He wasn’t going to voice it to Thor.

Getting involved with Gods ( especially one’s like the one before him ) spelled bad news. Even more so since Ky had strict orders to not get involved with them. If his family knew about this little chat? Well, he’d be dragged back ‘home’ quicker than he could say ‘sorry’ ( more or less ).

“All men, even Gods such as yourself can die – It’s all a matter of apply the right pressure.” A pause. “From what i know of the Ghost of Sparta, he’s defied fate several times over, and doesn’t take kindly to threats against himself or his twisted sense of family.”

“As had I, until recent events have shown how wrong I was to believe such a fact.” He’d rather not speak of the defeat his sons received at the greek’s hands, training his attention instead on the mortals that still paid their respects to his effigies. This so called god from a different was troublesome, but Baldur, working at the behest of their father, had vowed to keep an eye on him.

“You speak of the one known as Kratos, yes? He is starting to become a nuisance.” A sharp exhale sees his irritation dissipate before it had the chance to reach critical mass. “I’ll deal with him when the time is right to do so.”

image

“– and what if the time is never right to do so?” a simple question, but one to gauge thor’s ultimate interest in the matter. “you could wait for years – until he’s destroyed all the gods – and even then… it might not be the right time.” or maybe the right time was simply what one was chosen when needed? either way, ky didn’t seem to care to much – it wasn’t his fight. not yet anyways.

“if you take my advice,” he said, right hand running through his hair, “you should learn everything there is to know about him before a fight. if only half the rumors are true about him? fighting him is a-kin to fighting a giant snake.” it won’t end well.

“You know if anyone arrived here from The Mouth in the last week? I just want to ask if they’ve seen my brother. I could do with some news.”

“i thought you gods knew everything – you know, meant to be more knowing, and enlightened than the rest of all existence.” maybe he was grasping a but on that last part, but all the same… he doubted it truly mattered. “then again? last i heard some spartan was on a rampage again.”
