‘ Well I appreciate it , ’ the demon, perhaps, should take the compliment, as Samuel did not give them out often especially since most of the beings working under him were morons. The king’s grin seems genuine, and still the malice sunken deep into the lines at the corners of his lips remained, lingered, even so. Setting the parchment with the numbers atop the table on one side of his throne room, Samuel glides toward his throne, sitting down with an elegance that he simply had not had when he was still alive, and still human. ‘ What would you say if I had a special mission for you ?

compliment or otherwise, ky rarely took anything at face value these days, but he’d still tuck it away in the back of his mind, maybe one day – if not anytime soon- it may just come in hand. all the same, his mind snapped back to the attention of samuel.
a moment passed, another, and then another. a slight half-bow was given as a grin spread across his lips. ‘i’d say i live to serve.’ it was a stark contrast to what was going on in his mind and very far from the truth. if ky had any-say in the matter, maybe he’d have rejected the offer, but he wasn’t about to make that move.
no, he’d stay the servant for as long as needed, and then? he’d take what was rightfully his. not when the time was right, but when it was ultimately needed. if such a time was ever possible. ‘an’ that i’m ready for whatever you wish of me.’

There’s a whistle, looking over Ky’lar’s numbers. ‘ That’s a hella of a lot’a souls , ’ Yes, that was a compliment, and one that should be cherished, as it only came around every so often. Glancing up at the demon, there’s a an almost cheeky grin. ‘ I think someone deserves a raise , ’ / @hellfirebound

he did what was needed and what he happened to be good at. souls were easy; spend enough time around humans and you learn what makes them tick. they become easy enough to manipulate to the point were a few right words would make them beg out of his hand.

the compliment was taken with a simple nod. he didn’t need commendation. nor did he need to be acknowledged he had done a good job. still, he was going to be respectful at least around him. ‘ i only did what was required. ’ far more, but he wasn’t going to let his ego speak for him. maybe next time. ‘of my…. position.’
