“Tomorrow morning already? That’s… wow. That’s so soon.” He’s not sure what he expected but the next day was not it. “I can’t believe I’m actually getting my best friend back tomorrow already. Will he remember everything? About being dead and all?” He wanted to ask where he’s been, since it was this easy to get him back where has he been the past few years.
in truth, he could have honestly told the other any other date, and the result would have been the same. yet, he was going to fulfill his end of the deal as soon as possible, and deal with the other details later on. “he will know he’s back, but as for how much time is gone? it’s up for each person. they might remember something or just a blank, but it’s for you to fill those in. not me.”
“Okay, so it’s a deal. So when can you do this? When can you get him back?” He couldn’t believe how easily he was getting this deal. He would get his best friend back without having to give basically anything in return. He would get to live his life, happy to have his best friend back throughout all of it. Almost getting sick with nerves and excitement, having difficulty staying still, fidgeting with his hands.
It always was a question of when. In truth, he could have said right away, but then again, even Ky knew that this would take time. Not to mention a few favors he would have to call in, “Tomorrow morning he will be back.” It was cutting it close, but if everything went well… by this time tomorrow everything would have worked itself out. Well, hopefully at least.
“It won’t happen with Jeremy. I’m sure he wants to come back. To meet his parents again and everything.” There was not much Joseph was as sure of as this. Jeremy would want to be alive, he’s not sure what happens once you die but Jeremy must hate being dead. “A chat and then you’re off? I get to live my life and Jeremy gets to be alive again. I don’t care that you have my soul. If I’m alive that doesn’t mean anything.”
“ I just need to stop by for a while —- no hidden fee’s or anything like that. I stop in, make sure everything is well, and that’s it. ‘Course, you’ll be alive a very long time if that mean’s anything.” It more than likely didn’t, but at the same Ky disliked having to collect souls himself —- open ended agreements were best. A reason to why he chose them more often than not as they got what they wanted and Ky got an IOU to use down the line.
“Why wouldn’t he want to come back? Who would rather be dead than alive?” Joseph could barely imagine having Jeremy back alive, he didn’t want to get his hopes up but by the sound of it the demon would be able to do it and soon his best friend would be back alive. No matter what the cost was Joseph was ready to pay. “Ten years? You’re not going to want anything in return for ten years?” It almost sounded too good to be true, like he was almost getting what he wanted without any charge.

“You want something in return, that’s what a deal means. And no matter what you want I’ll do it…” Joseph wouldn’t have done this normally, but with what’s happened the past year he needed something good in his life. “I want my best friend back.”
the demon DOUBTED the other would willingly give him what he wanted, but he had been wrong before. most demons WANTED souls; a one way ticket to becoming a demon eventually down the line. yet, sometimes a simple favor was sometimes worth far more than a simple SOUL, ❝ —– and what if he doesn’t WANT to come back? ❞ it wasn’t saying he wouldn’t, but instead, ky’lar was simply trying to amuse himself as he made his way forward,
