HOW IN THE HEL DID HEROES DO THIS ?oh , how loki wished it were easier ; chasing after the new so-called ’ villains ’ , putting them in their place . his favorite bit , though , was how the long evil monologues had become catchy ONE-LINERS . he’d , um , yet to come up with a good one . even now , after going through the trouble to chase these idiots down , loki stood there — thoughtful and frustrated . his hand was extended in front of him , fingers curled slightly in a half-assed attempt to keep the man in front of him suspended at least ten feet from the ground. ‘ … i don’t even think thor has a catchphrase . i suppose it’s ‘ for asgard ’ though though that’s hideously boring . oh , captain america has something about justice or . . . i don’t know , GOD , or something— ’ his voice trailed off when he sensed someone’s presence behind him—damn , do the monologues truly never end ?he cast a look over his shoulder , lips pursing as he looked from the stranger to his current . . . victim? catch ?either way . . .
‘ how likely is it that you’ll believe me if i say thisisn’t what it looks like ? ’
IT WAS ALWAYS SOMETHING. ky was rapidly approaching the ONEWEEK mark of not getting in trouble. he was FINALLY managing to keep his NOSE out of things, but as per-usual, that FAILED. a reason to why his hands balled into tight fists OUT OF A HABIT that he couldn’t just seem to break. ‘ about as LIKELY as it is that you’re just having a BAD DAY.’ he shouldn’t have raised his voice — not when he was trying to KEEP OUT of trouble, but all the same, there it was as he made his way closer. just close ENOUGH so he could make a CLEAR view on the situation the other was in.
either way, he pulled out his phone for a FEW QUICK MOMENTS — checking the time and then the date. a deep sigh soon after escaped his lips, ’ no matter, i’m NOT cleaning this up, and i’ve hit —’ONE, TWO, THREE SECONDS PASSED as he moved to check the time again on his phone, ‘ one week with out GETTING INTO ANY TROUBLE.‘
he then slid the phone back into his pocket; his arms FOLDING CALMLY BEHIND HIS BACK as his attention shifted towards the man that was SUSPENDED in the air, ‘ now, ‘ his voice became slightly more relaxed, ‘ if you’re going to drop someone, i would SUGGEST someplace that is more into ETERNAL torment.’ a pause, ‘ might i suggest MEPHISTO’S realm? ’
❛ Unfortunately, I DON’T care what way this goes. It’s your little war, ❜ a pause as he took a step forward to issue his BOLD statement, ❛ Not MINE, nor will it EVER be. ❜
Forcing herself to breathe evenly, pistol extended, finger a heartbeat away from the trigger, Maggie clears another room of the seemingly abandoned building. There shouldn’t be anyone about and it’s good practice, giving her time to think and breathe, practice technique alone. Or so she thinks. As she enters another room, there’s a man standing there, one she doesn’t recognize – which shouldn’t be a surprise in the least. Pistol drops to her side automaticly, reaction to seeing someone she viewed at a civilian. ❝ Apologies… Thought I was alone out here. ❞
ABANDONED buildings were easy to hide in. they were rarely checked on, there were usually homeless inside of them, and the general law enforcement never came into check them out. it was the PRIMARY reason to why he was here; to actually work in PEACE outside of his hotel room. the only thing he DIDN’T directly expect was for anyone else to be there — something that he could FIX… if given the proper chance, ❝ you would be, ❞ he said, ❝ on usual days. ❞ then again, this was a day that was far from usual ( at least by his standards ), ❝ no one comes around here… not too often at least. ❞
(★) ─ This was too dangerous: having a civilian out in the open… wanting to fight. “Sir,” The Super Soldier tried again, eyes scanning the surroundings to ensure they were still clear. “I really must insist, it isn’t safe–” Steve pulled up his shield, blocking a blast aimed at the two of them. He couldn’t say this was the first time an innocent had tried standing up with them, it was rare but a downside to the Avengers Initiative. Clint had to escort a kid off a roof because he thought he could help with his little BB gun.
Grinding his teeth, Steve took the man by the arm. “I’ll say this one more time.” The blond couldn’t keep the growl out of his tone. “You need to leave, so I can do my job.” He already had so much blood on his hands: years, decades, centuries of lives lost… Sometimes when he closed his eyes he felt like he was swimming in a sea of blood. He refused to let one more innocent be on his conscious.
He should have considered it lucky that the blast didn’t hit him, but if he wasn’t distracted, it wouldn’t have even gotten that close in the first place. True, he was still a ‘civilian’ in most military terms, but at the same time, Ky’lar wasn’t about to change that anytime soon.
Staying below the radar was easier that way, not getting too involved, and staying as far away from S.H.I.E.L.D. as entirely possible. It gave him a sense of false security that meant he wouldn’t be questioned or even hunted. Though, he had a clear feeling that he was going to be known after this…at least if his assumptions were correct.
His focus, however, was shifted from his personal thoughts on the situation back to reality at the moment Steve grabbed his arm. Granted, it was something that needed to be done as he shouldn’t have even been there to begin with, but at the same time, Ky didn’t exactly see it that way.
“Don’t touch me,” the words, for all that they were worth, were done out of an instinct reaction, “ And go save someone else!”
“ I thought you would be able to give me more options than the one’s I have already. “ She might not have been able to fix every single problem, but he was hoping that she could give a gesture in the right direction. Even that would suffice for the moment, “I can’t keep running forever and I can’t simply fight it either.”
❛ I wonder what will happen to you, if I spray you with holy water… ❜ his look was determined as usual, when doing his job – his hand was FIRM while holding the flask of with the liquid.
❛ Will it burn your face off or not? —- Do you really want me to waste it on you?❜
❛ I have a similar question; what do you think will happen if I throw acid on your face? ❜ Ky’lar was more amused than not. Throwing out vague threats – even the demon would never go through with them – were just to see how the other would react, ❛ It’s your choice. Do make sure it’s the right one. ❜
“ now what do we have here?“ the devil slowly circled the stranger, dark hues carefully taking in every detail. his lips pulled into an intrigued grin as he comes to a halt in front of the other. ” you’re not exactly human, now are you? how interesting“
“ does it matter if i’m exactly human? ” he managed to keep his sarcasm in check. well, mostly, “ i’ve found a majority of them to be boring.” not that he could really complain, “ i just happen to find myself in one of the cracks. i don’t think what i am matters that much. ” at least not at the moment.
during the many years she had roamed the earth and hell, the smell of another demon was not something to neither ignore nor miss. the hair on the back of her neck would get up, the shiver peel into her skin.. satana looked up from her nails, lazily turning on one heel towards the other. she’s not concerned — or if she is, she didn’t show it. left corner of her lips up she pressed her arm against the cold brick wall.
“ don’t be shy, we were both made out of the same type of MUD andCLAY. …well ——— almost. ”
“Almost —– isn’t that ENLIGHTENING.”
Sarcasm dripped from the man’s lips easily as his arms crossed firmly across his chest. She, for a lack of better term was an unknowable, and that was slightly common these days. Ky’lar rarely enjoyed spending time around anyone — let alone someone that could consider themselves his own ‘kind’ —- on his good days.
“—- And here I thought that someone was wanting to drag me back where I belonged, but he WOULDN’T go for sending a lackey.”
She couldn’t lie to herself anymore. She’d fucked up. Big time. Another life – or – death decision and like usual she made her major choices in a split second. Normally that worked out in her favor – but this time she was starting to doubt.
Claire was having trouble catching her breath. and the pain she felt indicated she’d busted at least one rib – if she survived this she’d need a hospital visit.
Maybe he took things a bit too far this time around, making a scene out of nothing at all, but then again, that was what happened when he got angry. It burned hot in his veins and he lashed out — didn’t matter who or what it was.
“You know, if you survive, you’ll go on living your life as you usual had, but what’s the point in it anyways? Life is so…. fleeting at times, isn’t it? One little mistake for humans and they wind up dead or worse.”
❝ i don’t care what kind of GAME this is. ❞ the dark haired woman pushed herself away from the cold stonewall, staring at the stranger lingering in the darkness. she HATED it being watched, she HATED it being followed. amelia wasn’t some kind of FREAK others were allowed to HUNT like an animal. her whole existence was blasphemy enough, so why couldn’t they just LET HER GO ?
❝ i won’t join ANY kind of army, neither will i agree in one of your funny experiments. i’m not a rat ! ❞ she was FED UP. angry. who wouldn’t ? less could amelia know that this man was far from any kind of creature she ever met and probably the most DANGEROUS of them all.
