“I’m being as patient as I can be at the moment, considering the circumstances. Please, repeat yourself.”
A deep sigh escaped his lips; clearly, this wasn’t getting either of them anywhere. “Yes, yes – I may have done something a bit radical. Something… that may have unleashed a pretty violent monster. It’s nothing too big. I can handle it.”
“Do I have to?” He knew he would, but Ky never could pass up an opportunity to be difficult. “I’d rather not – if we’re being honest here.”
“Fortunately for you, it’s not.” His eyes remain narrowed, a clear distrust projecting from his expression for the other person.
“For now at least,” he mused out lowly. “Eventually, breathing will become a crime, and my existence could be,” a pause, “What exactly is League business?”
“It’s a problem if you’re interfering in League business.”
“League business?” He couldn’t help, but roll his eyes. “Doubtful, but that depends on what you classify as League Business.” A pause. “For all I know, breathing could be interfering with that sort of business.”
