the demon was enjoying it. every single second of it. to have the horseman of death wrapped around his finger was one of his greatest feats – even if he didn’t exactly have a part to play in it. “you could have always said no.” maybe. maybe not. ky didn’t care at the moment as a smirk spread across his lips. “you made a deal, death. that means even you could go back on it, but… you won’t.”
rage. anger. hatred. that full name was something he never could get rid of. maybe at time he could have, but these days? not so much. no, instead, all ky could do was bottle up everything until it bursted out like a lava flow. usually, he was able to control himself for a while, and even let names simply go ignored. the only problem was this was his full name – the one he hated so very much. the same one that proved just how human he was.
“who gave you P̴͙̙͚̋̉̏̅̂̔͘̕E̵̺̽̈̓̇̈́̚͠Ŗ̶̡̡̜͇̘͎̮̤̼̻̞̻͛̋̓͌͜M̵̛̖͓͉̜͖̹̈́̌͐̀̋̈̉̓̊̌̈́͘I̶̳̮͊͒Š̶̡̫̫̮͔͙̭̘͚̠̌́͜S̶̨̤̼͈͈͓̻̝̳̰͑̌̇͊̀́͌͐͘͠Ì̴͈̩̙̩̟͕̌̋̈͐̔̽͛̓̈͊̑̕͝͠O̴̡̨͙͙̪̥̘̹̜̼̗̲̼͌̾̿ͅN̴̡̲̫̜̝̼̥͚̩͔̙͎̩͕̬͑̊̒͋̽͋̎̀́̈̀͊̕͠͠ to say that name?”
not that it mattered much – he’d find out eventually, but for now – ky’lar was just pissed off. that never was a good thing, but for now? oh, that meant making sure death was right in his place. since ky was not just going to make the horseman suffer for this, but everyone as well. just for his own amusement.
green eyes rose to meet with the demon’s. it was needless to say that the exchange was cold, the temperature that surrounded them shifted drastically. irises turned to sickly opaque white, hands gripping at the pole of his scythe, he was ready to strike. with one quick trained flick of his hands, he could see this demon’s head tumble and roll. blood would smudge weathered steel and DEATH would find himself tasting its slick warmth. bitter salt, an iron rich nectar. blood- painted tongue would lap at his lips in—
HUNGER
oh how he starved…
he could almost hear FAMINE’s dark chuckle somewhere in the distance. his eyes had closed when his mind had drifted, displaying another moment of vulnerability. gritting his teeth, he snarled and pushed the blade, biting at tender flesh under its strained position.
there was no doubt in his mind that death, if he so wished, could have ended him right then, and there. it would have been quite easy as well. to end his existence, but even ky knew that living was far more painful than a quick death. no, there was doubts that the horseman would bring him back to life.
even so, ky wasn’t going to risk it. a reason to why he lifted his neck just slightly again. this time, just to make sure that he wouldn’t be cut. more so self preservation than anything else. “patience.” that usual grin spread across his lips shortly after he licked them.
“i want…” he trailed off for a few moments, making sure to lower his voice to a whisper. that way, the conversation could seem a bit more intimate. “you to kill my father.” he could have said more – much more in-fact, but he’d start with the basics first. then he’d work his way up.
ky was doing far more than just enjoying himself. the demon rarely ( if ever ) got to actually play with what he could consider his ‘toys’. more importantly, when he did get to play with them… he usually tore them apart. of course, this time around he doubted he could do so with death.
a horseman right at the tips of his fingers – all he had to do was get under the other’s skin so he could destroy everything. no, they would destroy everything. it was just a matter of time, pressure, and motivation. not to mention breaking through the other’s defenses. just so he could say the right words.. the exact same words that would cause a horseman to destroy a good portion of life on the planet ( if he ever go that far ).
“don’t doubt that,” he said, grin pulling at his lips. right hand moving to tap the edge of the blade. “i’ll stop if you do one small… thing for me. just one small task.”
“ you say that EVERY FUCKING TIME you see me with a shirt off.” or on rather. not that it mattered to ky – he didn’t care what other people thought of him these days, but… he was ANNOYED that death was bringing it up again. “ unlike you, i NEED time to relax – can’t you start the END of the world or something?” even if death couldn’t? ky just wanted him to stop TALKING – anything so he could CLEAR his head for the time being. “or maybe a beer? or a bottle of whiskey?”
IT WASN’T A SURPRISE that he was being used. in-fact, it was downright PREDICTABLE at this point in time. a reason to why his eyes LOWERED for a few moments TO PROCESS THIS INFORMATION. he was being USED, it was USUAL, but it still HURT the part that was still HUMAN inside of him.
“TYPICAL,” and it was in his mind, “what do you NEED ME FOR THEN?”
having death all tied up like this was amusing, but sadly, it wasn’t enough to have ky help the other. in truth, the demon would have enjoyed death to spend the next few hours where he was, but then again, the aftermath wouldn’t be decent. well, at least to ky’s own personal standards.
with a single nod, DEATH took a few strides. while the demon seemed… relaxed… the PALE RIDER held a strict posture, an austere appearance. ❛ you assume too much… there is no place for secrecy and lies among us, HORSEMEN. we are the true nature of decree. HAMMERED and SHAPED to be EXPLICIT and EXACT. ❜ pale lips curled and formed a snarl.
❛ to include me would be to risk your OWN exposure, KY’LAR. ❜
❛ what i ASSUME is that everyone has secrets; you might not think of them as such. to your mind, they simply might be ‘NEED TO KNOW’, and yet they are still there. ❜ not that it MATTERED to the demon, he could cares LESS about how the HORSEMANinteracted with each other. it WASN’T important. not to him at least.
❛ ——- and what do i have to EXPOSE? i already know what i WANT and if i can’t have it? i’ll settle for the DEATH of every human on this wretched planet ❜
❛ —– you seem caught off-guard in your little elaborated schemes, DEMON… yet again, DEATH does not like to be toyed with and no one is as LUDICROUS as you to be tempted in such interest. i must admit that i find it quite entertaining to watch. ❜
❛ —– there is something ALLURING in seeing his VULNERABILITY, don’t you think? ❜
what he wanted to say was that DEATH was simply CONQUEST; that the HORSEMAN meant nothing to him at all and that he would LEAVE the other ALONE when the time came for it. the only PROBLEM was that ky’s ACTUAL feelings were far too COMPLICATED for him to even explain in normal terms.
a REASON to why he took in a deep breath and then let it out SLOWLY,
❛ i have to AGREE, but my interest in DEATH is… complicated. ❜
