his eyes darken a bit at those words, the grin never leaving his face as he keep the hand on the other man. “ you should learn to listen to other sometime. why not now ? pay attention to me. ”
“no.” it wasn’t said to be rude, but rather to be difficult. that was the mood he was in, to be difficult to the one he cared about, and then to see how they would react. “i don’t think you deserve my attention.”
he frowns, still unsure about what they were doing. not the first time he needed an large amount of blood for something unfortunately, but that still didn’t mean it settled well with him. there needed to some amount of trust though, and as he frowned, the hunter nodded.
“ you need to cast the spell. you know it best, so there is only one here that can be bait. ”
if it was up to him, the use of spells would have been avoided all together, but times were… complicated. a reason to why the only course of action was magic and damn the consequences that came with it. “you’re not being bait.” rather, in ky’s mind, it was out of the question, and it would stay that way.
more to the point, if things went wrong… he could lose him, and the demon wasn’t going to risk that. not when dean was the only thing he wanted to protect. “we’ll find someone else.”
dean’s grinning as he pushes at ky’lar, biting at his lip. “you really should pay attention to me more, you know that ? ”
“telling me what to do is dangerous, dean.” even more so when he was in one of his more… dangerous moods. “be careful what you wish for.”
dean grins at those words, pleased that somethings can go right. it was a tough job sometimes, dealing with the supernatural, researching occult lore, learning forgotten languages, waging war… but sometimes, things went right for them. ky gets a satisfied hum, fingers that repeat the same motion on the skin of the demon’s hips as the ones in his hair.
he shifts closer, leeching off their body heat as the room was cold due to the winter weather ( if there was a desire to be close as well, he’d happily admit that, but he didn’t think verbalizing it was necessary ). “you know that’s all i ever wanna be, you make it rewarding for me. ––– got plans for the day?”
ky wouldn’t admit ( to anyone ) that he enjoyed being with dean like this. in truth, he would have wanted every single moment for them to be this close, but it never would have worked out. ky enjoyed torment… a reason to why he always attempted to distance himself from dean… just enough so he wouldn’t hurt him – inadvertently or otherwise.
“a few,” he mused. “thinking of making a statement.” though, in truth, it would just give ky a reason to kill a few demons, and some angels. anything to keep him from getting too bored, “you’re welcome to join… if you wish.”
they had a good point considering dean had done some very questionable actions to achieve his ends. there had been many of witches met that had dabbled in magic that knew no moral alignment. they simply used energy and guided it. the problem arouse when ky’lar told dean he was going to work alone–– something dean was never going to let him do.
“ hey no, no, you’re right. i’ll help ok. it’s just nothing I’ve done before. so… do what you do best and tell me what to do. ”
ky knew this was a risk; pushing dean to the limits of what was needed. of course, with or with out his personal interference this would happen. it was just a matter of time before dean finally understood the simple fact that ky’lar would take care of everything.
“it won’t be easy.” nor would it ever be if he was honest with himself, “we’re going to need blood. lots of it to start with.” then they could get to the other ingredients, “then comes the hard part. the part where we find someone as bait.”
he should have expected some kind of retaliation, it was simply the demon’s nature. the force however knocks the breath out of dean for a minute. gathering his resolve once more, haziness in his mind not quite fading due to the alcohol, dean gets to his feet with minimal struggle.
“ yeah? my fucking attitude? when you’re over there like you don’t have a care in the goddamn world?” there’s quite a difference in their volumes. while dean wasn’t quite yelling, it wasn’t what one would consider a inside voice. he grabs the nearest object– a book, boring in all aspects honestly but heavy– and gets ready to throw it as well at the demon. “ it’s like you don’t even care to what happens around you. ”
he waits to charge at the demon until after he throws the book. at least hopefully they’d be distracted then.
it was true, ky didn’t care what went on around him as long as he was on top. that way, he could pull all the strings, and no one could control him. it was the prime reason to why he scoffed.
dean still couldn’t see the big picture to all of this — to break down the foundations of everything and start a new. he couldn’t see anything, but for now, there was no time for explanations.
rather, all dean wanted was a fight, and ky would give it to him.
a low growl escaped the demon’s lips as the book was thrown at him. shortly after, dean had managed to pin him to a desk. it was nothing that he couldn’t get out of. if ky was being honest with himself, he had the other right where he wanted him, but there was no time for that.
this wasn’t just something they could get over. someone needed to be reminded of where they stood and right now? ky was willing to do this with out dean. at least for the time being.
“maybe you forget, dean. i don’t need you.” harsher words than he expected, but he needed the other. more than he thought he did, a reason to why he wasn’t going to send him flying back. no, not when he wasn’t in the mood to murder the other for the moment, “you’re just a human. one who needs to decide if they are in or out ‘cus this happening with… or with out you.”
“ do you really think all magic is black and white? ” it was a simple question as ky’s arms folded firmly behind his back, “ think about this; you have an opportunity to trap someone, but refuse to do so out of the morality of the situation. ” his lips pursed into a fine line, “ i can do this alone, ” granted, ky would end up in the darkest pit of hell if he attempted, “ but this is a chance it get it right… in one attempt…. with out mistakes. ” not to mention with out ky ending up back in hell due to pissing someone off ( again ).
it was one of the few times that ky was completely relaxed. being around dean had that effect on him most days and it was why he was content to simply lay there. after-all, it was nice to take a day to themselves… if only so they could be like this, and forget about the world around them.
“mmm.” he muttered lightly, his fingers slowly running through the other’s hair, “someone’s been a good boy lately.” it was a compliment… or rather, the best sort of one that he could give at the moment.
it all came back to the plan. the big fucking plan. dean help devise it, so how could he forget? the problem was that he just didn’t realize the consequences. how it would effect him. with everyone trying to influence the winchester, it felt like he was just another pawn again.
that was the last thing dean wanted.
glaring into the eyes of the demon, he refused to budge even with the hand around his throat. “ begging? i’m not in that kind of mood right now, ”dean spat out, misinterpreting what ky’lar was saying. but what did dean want in this moment? what was he trying to get the other to understand? the hunter wasn’t quite sure, still trying to figure out his own feelings. the answer wasn’t going to come from the bottom of a bottle though. dean used whatever leverage he had right now to try and push the other away and when he didn’t quite get the results desired, he gave a wild swing at the side of their face.
he didn’t expect the other to know what he was talking about; it had been the last thing on his mind for a while. with his own grab for power, he didn’t need to put effort into making a demon, and his interests were better suited elsewhere.
however, when the swing came, that was when ky’lar sent dean flying back into a wall. no warning, no way of telling the other he would do so, but rather it was out of an instinct reaction. one, that he was going to regret… eventually, “temper temper,” he mused out lowly, “don’t confuse business with pleasure.”
the demon knew he could have said more, even managed to say something worse than the actual facts, but instead, he simply made his way towards the winchester, “you might not be disposable, but that doesn’t mean that changes can’t be made, and trust me, your attitude right now demands changing.”
dean stares at the demon, emotions beginning to boil over. usually they were contained, suppressed. forced down to let the hunter focus on what needs to be done. but at this level of inebriation? “ yeah like i can forget. i have sam constantly reminding me who i’m fucking talking to constantly. don’t need you reminding me either, or fucking threatening me. ”
the thing was, what did he want? that question was one that dean had been asking himself constantly and with ky’lar bringing it up, the winchester finally got a chance to throw out his thoughts. he steps closer to ky, unafraid of what they would do. he points a finger at them, accusatory as he continues to yell. “ what i want is for everything to just be fucking over. for everyone to stop trying to pull me in five god damn directions. ”
he could deal with sam as that was next on his list. to take out the younger winchester would be needed for everything to work out properly. the demon wanted dean to personally take the other out, but it seemed that ky would have to handle it personally. it was only a matter of time.
of course, he had to deal with dean first, “you forget out plan, dean.” it would take time, to make sure everything was in their favor, it would take time. “maybe i should remind you why there is no backing out. that’s what you want, isn’t it? to run back to your bother, right?”
the demon couldn’t help the roll of his eyes as he made his way forward; his right hand moving towards dean’s throat the moment he got into range. it was clear the other was angry, but the demon… didn’t care. right now this was all about control… not about his own personal feelings, “when i get done with you, you’ll be begging…” he cut himself off. he didn’t want to forcefully turn dean into a demon. not now… he wanted the other to make the choice themselves. it was always their choice and even though his anger he wouldn’t put the other through that.
