“yeah, well,” he said sucking in a deep breath, and letting it out slowly. “good luck with that- i’m sure you’ll find someone who fits the bill eventually.”
“Yes, far too much. Any true god cannot be killed. Any true god need not need prove their divinity.“
In Ob’s experience there were rules for what constituted a god. But as powerful as they were, gods were still limited. It was Planeswalkers, even in their new diminished state, that were the true power in the Multiverse. He had proven that time and again.
“and yet it’s a true god that must prove it.” not that it mattered to him; gods or otherwise were usually run of the mill of sorts. facing a true would would be amusing, but not something he wanted to deal with — not anytime soon at least.
“Godlike…“ He chuckled, arms crossed. “I have been called such, before. But it is such an offensive moniker. I did not envy gods, they envied me.“
To be able to change reality and ones own self at will. To be limited only by imagination? That was true power. The unlimited power of the Multiverse. He had lost it, been struck down and returned to the mortal coil. All because the Multiverse’s rules changed.
“well, the term godlike is a bit like a name they call anyone who can give them what they want or… do something they never have managed to see before.” truthfully, throw anyone with an once of power, or what have you in the mix, and they throw the term god around everywhere. it was quite amusing in all reality.
“then again, the terms do get thrown around a bit too much for my liking.”
“Sometimes it only takes one to matter.“ Ob distinctly remembered the moment his spark had ignited, after a demon he had summoned had wiped all life from his home plane.
“maybe, but in my experience rarely do gods tend to listen to anyone.” when they did, that was when things got tricky. sometimes, they made things much worse, or sometimes flat out ignored them. honestly, it was a weird situation when praying— most of the time it just got a target on your back. “then when you throw god-like beings in the mix? things get … complicated.”
