Softly an eyebrow lifts, concealed beneath the skull mask covering her upper features.  For a moment, he receives nothing but a blank look at that comment.  The edges of her lips tug downward ever so slightly, “Do you always assume things people say are about you.”  flat and unimpressed.

“I put my hand in something..” Jezebel lifts her hand, revealing a rather disgusting slime trailing between her fingers.

“because they usually are,” he said, not even bothering to give her a second glance. “especially when i stick around someone for too long” if he wanted to, he could leave, and never look back, but here he was… still trying to be decent. though, it was quite clear he was failing at it.

“— you can wash it off you know. not that hard.”

“Disgusting.”

“yeah, well, it’s not so bad,” he said bluntly. “i’m not exactly well liked back home, an’ i doubted anywhere else would be different.” at least in his mind. still, there was always a trace amount of hope he had – even if it wasn’t entirely valid. “so, am i disgusting? yeah – seems i am.”

Midgar was not a place she had frequently visited.  There really wasn’t anything here except perhaps some cultures that were alike her own back on Vanaheim.  They reminded her of home – what little of it she could recall.

Most humans simply avoided her if they caught a glimpse of the animal skull, and hood that concealed most of her features.  It was weird, and often associated with less savory things.  Truthfully, it should be.  There was nothing pleasant about who she had become; nothing endearing, or kind.  She was an assassin, and surely capable of ending the lives of those who got in her way.

Thankfully for them, that was never really ideal for her.  Bodies left behind in the wake of her presence was bound to stir up unwanted attention.  No, she came here more to escape, and see what Earth held in the grip of its history.  Particularly those – alike her home.

Tonight she found a quiet spot in an old, Japanese garden on the outskirts of the city.  It was closed with a pleasantly half waning moon hovering high above.  Blue-silver light radiated from the heavens, tinting everything in a pleasant teal shade of dark with only the distant lights outside of the gates protecting this beautiful place from vandalism.

A bridge sat in the middle, with a waterfall trickling in at the side.  Beneath it, the shadows of koi could be seen occasionally breaking the surface to catch a bug who had so carelessly rested on the surface.  Ripples break the calm of moonlight across its reflection, but slowly it would return.  A calm that Jez found in herself as she stares at her own mirrored image below.

Ever vigilant, she listens to the chirp of crickets, and toads singing their nightly music.  A quiet reminder of a place she wishes she could call home again.

the only reason ky was out tonight was due to the fact he was bored. drinking did absolutely nothing for him today and he wasn’t about to spend the energy on trying to find some mild amusement.

no, the best thing for him was to get sober, and clear his mind that way. wouldn’t be easy – nothing ever was, but hopefully it would be worth it. well, enough so he could push on for another night, and maybe the next day would be better. it was, after-all, the only thing he could possibly do given the choices he had.

it wasn’t like going back to hell ( or a version of it ) was going to be on his play book – maybe if he got to his lowest point it would be. yet, he didn’t feel it was necessary.  not when he still had work to do here… at least when he was up to it.

either way, a deep sigh escaped his lips as he rubbed at his eyes; that unending itch always under his skin that forced him to find relief was still there. he just ignored it – that way, maybe he could get through the rest of the night with-out resorting to anything he’d regret in the morning… well, if he was really lucky.

however, his plans changed when he saw someone else in the area where he was headed. still, he wasn’t going to say anything – not unless they noticed him, and then? maybe he could have some amusement after-all… well.. hopefully.
