it’s the way that the man SPEAKS that tells volumes dripping in the bindings of the soldier’s history. it takes a moment for him to shake it off —- to truly relinquish all that he used to be ( an impossible journey, yet he tries…oh, he tries ) as a reminder that he was no longer a SOLDIER, he no longer served an army of any kind.

❛  —– well i’m not one of THEIRS ❜ not anymore. no. he’d been an asset, a fist meant to change the world as the way they saw fit — but not anymore, he simply wants the answers but this man didn’t seem inclined to just hand them over.

❛  all i want is an answer. you’re on a LIST, they want you dead. i want to know why. ❜

he’s teetering on the brink of attempting something dangerous, but no — even in his lapse of control he’s still too STRATEGIC for this and instead simply  takes a quarter of a step closer, one ditch effort to show that he’s not there for MALICIOUS reasons, whatever had him on the list he’d prefer to ignore if for the better part of shaping the century.

❛  a long time ago i was brought in to erase names off a list, i don’t know who else is on it, most of the ones i found are already DEAD, so now i want to know why. ❜

it seems like a simple task to find out what the endgame was —- but the man took a step forward that risked a THREAT to his well being, the rise in his voice only brought the defensive stance from the well trained assassin himself and he huffs. again. not looking for a fight, but those words don’t come out, instead he meets the other man’s gaze with one that would have sent anyone else to their knees.

❛  NEITHER am i. so i just want answers. ❜

‘and i can’t give them!’ he wanted to already rip bucky apart. maybe then he’d stop talking and breathing. maybe then ky could get out of here and try to find another place to stay it for a night. over-sea’s was looking so much better by the day. so much more lively than here where it looked like he couldn’t even get any sort of rest.

‘everyone is on a list,’ he tried to keep himself from getting angry as he slammed his fist into a nearby wall. oh, he’d end up paying for that eventually – the slam was hard enough to make an big impact. an impression that served to show just how unstable he really was. ‘it doesn’t matter what it’s for – someone will always show up either in a suit or wth an army an’ give you an offer.’ that was the truth of things – ky didn’t exactly decline last time, but now? he wished he would have just accepted. maybe then he wouldn’t have to deal with any of this shit.

‘if you want answers,’ he said, taking in a deep breath, and letting it out slowly. his hands balling into fists as if maybe that way he’d be able to get somewhat centered as his voice was turned a bit shaky. ‘find them somewhere else.’

in all reality, ky didn’t think he had the answers, and even if he did? there was doubt it could have helped his situation too much – still, there was a slight chance that this could help him. if he played his cards correctly. ‘—i don’t,” he said, rubbing his knuckles, ‘i don’t have any answers – none that would amount to anything.’ a pause. ‘last time i started looking…’ he gestured towards the hole in the wall. ‘that started an’ a man in a very nice suit came to visit.’

❛  of course not. ❜ the response is poisonous on his tongue. perhaps he did have everything handled but that didn’t mean it was over, for sure.

❛  yeah but we still have to get out of here in one piece, don’t we?? ❜

❛ . last i checked, getting out of here in one piece was your job – i’ll be fine.  ❜ a lie, even ky could find himself messed up badly, but he wasn’t about to admit that. least of all to barnes.  ❛ really, i will. ❜

❛ well, the name of the game is to always be on the winning side, no matter what side that is. that way — no matter WHAT you always end up on top.  ❜

❛   you can’t end up on to if you’re DEAD or everything you are has been RIPPED away. you might WIN in reality, but besides that? the feeling is FLEETING.   ❜

❛  — that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take them any less SERIOUSLY ❜ she’s not one to dabble, anyway, what else was there to say?

❛  maybe you should think about the headache it will cause everyone else. ❜

❛ do you know why i don’t enjoy guys? ❜ he asked, eyebrow lifting lightly.  ❛ it’s not due to the fact that i don’t know how to fire them – i’m a great shot after-all, but it’s due to the fact that after being shot about thirty times… i can’t stand them. ❜ there was more to it, but he wasn’t about to get into that. least of all at the moment.  ❛ so, if i get a death threat? i shrug it off. it may be painful – if it happens -, but i will survive. ❜

BINGO —-  and with that shay snapped her fingers as if suddenly she’d awoken a thought

❛  oh you know, i think i’ve heard of that one somewhere … hmm– ❜ she looks away as if she’s really trying to remember some false memory but laughs it off after a long moment with a large grin,

❛  all sorts of deals, huh? so like say i want to be president of the united states, you just snap your fingers, i offer you what??? my favorite penny? ❜ a gift from a witch as herself was worth something, but shay’s not a fool enough to think that’s what he wants,

❛  of is this some illegal marriage shtick? ❜

image

‘think of it this way,’ he said, arms folding across his chest. ‘you ask what’s in reason, we make a deal, an’ it’s your’s.’ granted, he was already getting tired of saying the piece, and he had have the thought to just leave. ‘ then again, maybe you don’t want a deal, an’ your just wasting my time.’ a simple statement – one that he hoped would mean that the ‘game’ had changed and quite frankly? the demon was bored.

personatvs:

a look sprawled upon the soldier’s face that dictated all that needed to be said. it was FOOLISH to think that one of said people on the list wouldn’t even know that they were on it,but everyone else he’d hunted down, every single body that had their name etched whether it be before he broke conditioning and he’d gone to wipe them out, or after – they all seemed to know why they may have been.

it’s the BATTLE READY stance that the other takes that has the soldier instantly in the defensive position. he’s ready, willing, and highly capable of a fight —- and even though he wants to avoid this, he knows what needs to be done.

❛  – there’s a list that consists of a threat to hydra’s cause, you’re on it. ❜ a lot of people were on it.

he’s waiting for the other to make his move, and impatiently at that. a soldier, especially one of sniper capabilities was highly trained in the art of PATIENCE, but he couldn’t help but feel as if he were running on nothing more than borrowed time.

❛  and honestly? i think you know exactly why.  ❜

image

OF COURSE, he knew why. if he went back in his own HISTORY he could have given off several reasons ( in the basis of fact ) as to why HYDRA would either WANT his head or to bring him in. it was all a SMIPLE matter of mathematics; two plus two DID equal four, but in ky’s case it EQUALED five. he was one of the few PIECES in a much GRANDER game. a game that could prove FATAL to everyone INVOLVED.

‘ — last time one of THEIR agents came runnin’ around here. ’  by here he meant specifically himself ( not the area they were currently at ), ‘ they tried to give me an OFFER. ’ ky didn’t exactly refuse, but he didn’t exactly agree either. instead, he made sure they WOULDN’T be returning – maybe that was why he was on the list ( besides the quite obvious ).

‘ i can see they DIDN’T enjoy my response. ’ not that he could blame them, but that had been a very long time ago – maybe months to years. quite honestly? ky didn’t understand time very well anymore. nor did he think it was important. ‘ or is this just a SOCIAL call? ’ not that it mattered to him. what ky knew of his ABILITIES and the situation were slim – hell, he knew more about the SITUATION he was in right now than what he could do. though, he doubted that it mattered at the moment in time.

still, his hands clenched into tight fists, as he took an involuntary step forward ( one he didn’t even realize until it was already taken ). ‘’cause, i’m not in the MOOD to deal with this shit – not today, not ever!’

personatvs:

there was a list in his head that repeated itself over and over again. the second he broke away — FLEEING from the likes of HYDRA and everything else that he’d done in their name he’d longed to know who he was supposed to be, and also ( but this was a slightly more dangerous path to go down ) why.

one of the names on the list that remained ingrained in the back of his head was one he wouldn’t have otherwise recognized, some were sensical, doctor stephen strange, tony stark, carol danvers, all of those as threats to HYDRA and their incredibly detrimental desires, this was a man he wasn’t sure of. though, it was painful to think that he needed to seek out the reasoning for hydra’s menacing decisions, no. in fact it was only adding more insult to INJURY.

still —- he tracked him nonetheless. it wasn’t that hard to do, a trail of bodies left in his wake and done so in a means that made him easy to track by one with a mind that worked…. fairly similar, but far more indulging in subtlety. the path led him to a questionable motel, the kind he’d passed by on several occasions whether it be to stage the deaths of those on HYDRA’s hit list, or something else, but still, he recognized the type well and it was from the shadows that he sat in wait, rifle pointed and prepared.

❛   —– your name came up on a list, and i want to know WHY.❜

image

the why was complicated; not even he could properly say it. he used cash, made sure not to leave a trail, and yet he still was found. still was…known. maybe he should have tried harder to hide from whoever could possibly be after him.

resorting to violent measures wasn’t what he wanted, but they would suffice. one way to get to the bottom of things was to ensure a stances was made. it may not have been the best of idea’s, but quite honestly? he was getting past the point of caring about his actions – at least in this instance.

❛ what list? ❜ he didn’t even attempt to answer the question. instead, he shifted to asking a question; not a violent reaction, but in his own way, it was. a denial of what the other wanted – a clear answer – could sometimes be determined as violence in his experience.
