“Who said I was willing to give you my trust ?” Just because she wondered didn’t mean she was okay to trust him right away. Because she wasn’t, he may be some God from somewhere only him knew apparently, but she remained wary && highly suspicious nonetheless. Did he impress her ? More or less. Lagertha was just very careful.
His request didn’t take her by surprise, she expected him to be around for a reason, she just waited for him to spill it out. She hummed lightly, her chin high as she looked up at him with bright eyes. “Then expect my next question to be who exactly do you look for ? Are they someone specifically ?” She wasn’t sure it was her, because he would have probably asked her right away. “Me, maybe ?” she hesitated, but didn’t step back.
“i doubt it would be you.” maybe it was, but he couldn’t see it yet. then again, it was hard to see things for what they were these days. making his decision to stay in hell was one done out of a foolish mistake. more to the point, it shouldn’t have been done, and as such… he was looking for a way out of it.
there was doubt it would happen — more doubt than he could ever come to explain. still, there was some hope — even if it was little. “i doubt it would be anyone,” he mused lowly. “all i need is to find the one… and then maybe i’ll be free.”
He was right, she knew well that Gods liked to wander around Midgard in bodies, taking appearances that didn’t reflect them though. Odin, for example, was a master who was said visited his people in many different physical features, when he was originally an old man with one eye.
“Perhaps you are right. But that still does not explain your presence here, && if I really should trust you.” Her eyes were still on him, ready to move if necessary but it did not seem like the God he said he was, wanted her dead. “Do you need something from me?”
“Trusting me is a grave mistake,” he said. Though, that was putting it lightly; he would turn on whoever did trust him for his own amusement. Did that quite a few times and it was how he managed to get his… current position. Not that it mattered too much these days. Ky had made sure that his position was secure and that was one reason to why he was here. To make sure he was never forced out of what he’d sacrificed so much for.
“However, i’m here to find something, “ a pause, “More specifically, someone.” his lips then pursed into a thin-line, “I would have preferred to stay in my realm, but sending someone else wouldn’t cut it.” or, in other words, he didn’t trust his own people… not at all.
“I would not know better than you, incontestably.” Squinting her eyes slightly at him, she studied the man with attention, whom claimed to be one. Now she had to decide if she counted him as one of hers. He didn’t look like one for sure. “So what you are saying, is that you do not fear anything, or anymore?” He got her intrigued clearly now. “I am not scared of you or death in general.” Since her youngest age, she knew tales of Hel, Goddess who received a part of the dead, && that she should be anything but afraid of her realm. “&& you do not look intimidating either.” Insolent ? Probably a little, yeah.
“If you already know your answers, why are you asking me then?” Blue eyes moved to stare at him intensely in his dark ones, bold. “Care to tell me more? So far, I do not believe you are a God. What if I forced my sword to meet your heart? Would you bleed?”
“Does anyone bleed when you stab them in their heart? What you see, what you really see is a reaction of what happens when you break open the flesh of a person, and that is blood.” He was attempting to go towards how a person is just a fleshy meat sack, but instead, he failed to do so.
A reason to why he let out a deep breath and attempted to make things easier to understand, “What you see right now is a vessel. My true form isn’t meant for this world.” If he was being honest, his true form was an abominable disgrace to creation, but that was besides the point, “If you stab me, my vessel may bleed out, but I will still be standing. A body is what keeps me stable on this world. Nothing else.”
What to think of his ask? The more she stared at him, the more she wondered if he had any powers. She only trusted her Gods in Asgard, so who was he to pretend his title? Maybe he was just a midgardian calling himself by some Gods’ name? “I am not afraid of you. My Gods do that a lot, it is simply very rare to witness one in disguise.”
Lagertha was confused now, she narrowed her eyes at him && cocked her head on the side. “Where are you from?” It was her turn to ask questions, the more time she spent around him, the more she felt like something was wrong. “What even are you lookinf for here, on Earth?”
❝ gods are complicated are they not? always going on with their lives that seem quite similar to our own, but they are far more powerful. not to mention older, but fear is such a human emotion isn’t it? for you, staring down death doesn’t seem like much, but truthfully? i would be ashamed if you were and a bit disappointed. i get enough of that back home…. especially these days. ❞
a slight grin pulled at his lips for a few moments as he folded his arms firmly across his chest,
❝ though, in truth, earth is amazing isn’t it? i’m here due to business and i’m from earth…. at least originally. ❞
