“You probably damaged a nerve, Ky.” She shook her head and placed her katana down on the table. “Lemme see it.” She motioned him to take the shoes off. “I still don’t get what ‘some fist’ means.”
“It’s nothing.” Actually, it was more than just nothing and at the same time, he wasn’t going to elaborate unless it was needed. Running, that he could do, but jumping from buildings? Well, that wasn’t exactly something enjoyed… especially when he was in an area he didn’t know quite well.
Either way, he took his shoes off with a grunt, “I pissed someone off, I ran – for once I might add, and well… you know.”
“You do know that I don’t smile, right?” Honestly, he didn’t even see a reason to why it was needed, let alone from someone like himself, “I don’t need friends. They just… hold me back.”
“—- Alright, there are two things I have learned tonight. One, don’t run from a guy saying he’s some fist and two? Remind me to actually remember not to jump from a building. I still can’t feel my toes.”
The last thing she needed was some civilian getting in the mix of all this. Colleen pulled her hood down a little more, holding her katana out to him. “I won’t ask again, you’re only going to find pain here.” His pain, their pain, it didn’t matter to Colleen. If he was a part of the Hand she wouldn’t hesitate.
Colleen heard sirens and she turned around to look for an exit, she wasn’t going to stay around to try and explain this. She looked at the person down the alleyway and then sprinted for the fire escape. Jumping up and hoisting herself up and over the metal railing, Colleen sprinted for higher ground in hopes of losing him. She thought about calling Danny, this wasn’t the first time they’ve had to squash Hand business but this was the first time they were caught. She slid behind an air conditioning unit, catching her breath.
It was just his luck that there were sirens : if he was alone, he might have been able to get them to back down, but as it stood, the best option was to stay out of their sight. Police forces could be unpredictable at times and unstable at best. A reason to why he ended up following her.
While it was mainly out of his own amusement, Ky’lar knew fully well that if he wanted to at least get some answers, the best bet would be to not lose her, and if that didn’t work? Well, he would have to resort to more desperate measures, but for now, the best bet was to catch his breath, and the move on from there.
❝ —— My own pain is irrelevant. ❞ It was a delayed response once Ky’lar thought he was in the general area she was in,
❝ I’m just looking for answers and I bet the cops are as well. ❞
She didn’t plan on fighting, not tonight. She certainly didn’t plan on using her katana either but there were Hand agents missing limbs now and she was tired. She sent most of the scurrying off but was bleeding and bruised herself; she was pretty certain that Danny was going to be upset she didn’t follow them. Could you blame her? After the week she had she wasn’t really certain she wanted to know what was down that rabbit hole. Collen wiped her blade against some cardboard when she heard the sound of footsteps. She gripped her katana tightly and turned in the direction of the sound. “Not another step alright? Turn around and leave.”
ky’lar knew that tracking down members of the hand would be dangerous; even more so since he had managed to avoid them before out of habit. it wasn’t his place to get involved in what didn’t directly involve him and for the last month he had been doing quitewell with that standing order. though, in reality, it was just a matter of time before things reached a perpetual boiling point… just like it had right now.
❝ i don’t think i can do that. ❞ a bold statement, but not exactly the truth. if he wanted to, he could have walked way right then, and there. however, that would have meant he could pull himself away from the situation, and that the moment, he couldn’t,
❝ ‘course, you could enlighten me, an’ i might leave. ❞
