“ that wasn’t the most helpful response you could have given. ” Not that anything he could say would actually convince her to pull out of this. This was her job, she was expected to come up with the results they wanted in whatever form necessary, her own safety was an afterthought most of the time. “ now if you’ll get out of my way, I have people waiting on my results. ”

“if i wanted to help, i would have said something  else.” or maybe ky would have given  the same line. he wasn’t known to give ‘help’ to anyone. not truly at least. “now, your results will  just have to wait a few minutes, won’t they?” or hours. after a while… time became hard to understand. at leas to ky.

there’s a little quirk to her lips as she crosses her arms over her chest, “ promise? ” it’s really not all that smart to be taunting him like this and she realizes that, but on some level, she wouldn’t be too upset if it did prove fatal. “ listen, i’m stuck here until this is over, so i need you to either work with me, end me, or give me a really good reason to be out of commission for this one. ”

“i can’t truly promise anything.” or, even if he could, ky didn’t think it was needed for the moment. no, if ky was going to promise something, it would be that things wouldn’t be easy against him, and that whatever he did… couldn’t be changed. however, getting to that point wasn’t going to be easy; he didn’t like giving out promises unless he was truly pissed off. so far? he hadn’t gotten to that point. “it just would be in your…. best interests to leave.”

“ if you keep making my job difficult, we’re going to run into some problems here. ”

“i like to think of it as you getting in my way.” maybe it wasn’t exactly that, but at the same time? ky didn’t think it mattered. “‘cause, the way i see it? you’re exactly in my way an’ it’s known to be fatal if you don’t move out of it.”
