his refusal in the apple slice resulted in her biting into the fruit while standing upright, towering over him with a raised brow. he didn’t want the energy and he wasn’t fighting her on being restrained. any other would have graciously taken what she offered or even begged for release. instead he’s annoyingly calm, asking her about his future opponent.
❝ well, the strongest champion goes by Hulk. he’s a rather angry green machine. but you’ll start off with easier champions to fight off and earn your way to Hulk’s rank. NO ONE ever survives a round with Hulk. I hear today you’ll be starting off against DOUG. ❞
his passive behavior has her believing he won’t fight. so she comes around behind him, reaching for her dagger strapped to her thigh —– he’s cut free a moment later. ❝ enjoy this bit of freedom while it lasts. ❞
calm was easy enough to maintain with practice. ky’s anger for the entire situation as vast – more so when he knew that talking or even bribing his way out of it wasn’t going to happen. so, he turned that anger – that perpetual rage – into something more tempered. a false sense of calmness that was in-turn amusement. that way, ky attempt to keep things somewhat decent, and he could more than likely prevent them from getting any worse.
❝ DOUG? ❞ he asked, almost rolling his eyes, but resisting the action – if only for a moment or two. it was then he was freed from his bindings; a quick movement. she’d done this before or maybe that was just ky’s assumption of the situation.
no matter, once he was free, he moved to crack his knuckles, and wrists. ❝ sounds easy. ❞ then again, he doubted he’d be allowed to fight to the best of his abilities here. the hulk, just from what he knew… wasn’t someone anyone wanted to fight.
then again, ky had faced off against creatures as tall as the highest buildings on earth before and while he knew his triumph was luck? he still knew that he could put up a decent fight – maybe even better than most, but he’d have to play it smart. ❝ — how tall is he? ❞ he meant dug, but his mind was more focused on how he’d be able to pull off fighting the hulk. that was… if he even got that far.
❝ an’ ❞ he said, not even bothering to try to force the accent he’d picked up over the years down. ❝ are there any rules? ❞
“then leave!” he was so close to simply ripping apart any sort of friendship or what have you with anyone. so close to taking a one way trip back home and not caring about anyone else ( not that he cared much to begin with ). all he had to do was gather the right supplies and he’d never look back. “or maybe i WILL first!”
and here she was almost hoping he’d agree with her words prior. instead she’s given a vague response; one that causes her brow to rise curiously. —– but another bite is taken before she could pry. better not get too comfortable with one she plans on selling for booze money.
there’s a second apple nearby and she considers slicing this one to at least feed the poor guy. ( it may very well be his LAST meal before facing up against the MIGHTYHulk soon. ) and so she reaches for it, doing just that. —– the only bit of kindness he’ll get from her before being thrown to the wolves. as she begins slicing the fruit, eyes flicker back to him over his question.
❝ for your protection, ❞ she offers with a hint of a smirk. ❝ even if you don’t try to escape, you might try something stupid. I’d hate to have to hurt you before your big match. —– which I’m betting against you, so make me proud. ❞
she stands from where she’s been sitting, crosses on over and holds out an apple slice to his lips. ❝ now open up; you’ll need the energy. ❞
of course it was for her protection; if he was left to his own devices, maybe he would have had an upper hand. still, his outbursts were always violent – very violent if he was being honest with himself. a reason to why he couldn’t blame her – not really at any rate – for the precautions that were being taken.
❝ i don’t need to eat. ❞ a simple truth as while he would have enjoyed the slight amount of food… he really didn’t require it. it would have helped give him energy, but beyond that? no, it didn’t help sustain him much.
❝ i have to ask though, who am i fighting? ❞ while he thought he could handle himself in most circumstances… knowing at least slightly about who he was meant to fight would be helpful. even more so since it seemed there was no way out of this situation he found himself in.
❝ if you’re looking for an apology, you won’t be getting one. ever. ❞ there’s something about him she doesn’t like —– though she can’t figure why that is, quite yet. regardless, she’s sticking to her words. ❝ it’s not my fault you were at the wrong place at the wrong time.❞
❝ nor is it my fault that we seem to always run into each other. ❞ a slight smirk spread across his lips. ❝ it might have been the wrong place at the wrong time, but there still is something that has to be said… even if you lack the ability to say it. ❞
he was going to give a smart-assed comment about how he only enjoyed them in bed, but doubted that it would have been taken well. a reason to why he decided to keep things as short as he could. that way, maybe he could get out of them, and back on his way before the end of the day. well, hopefully at least.
❝ yes, well, times change. ❞
it was his own way of saying he didn’t mind them, but then again, he would never would admit that. well, at least if they were being used on anyone else, but his person. still, he was in quite the little situation here, and he doubted that his charm would get him out of this. not to say he wouldn’t try.
❝ so,❞ he said, leaning his head back for a few moments, ❝ why are these needed again? it’s not like i could get out of here anyways – i don’t even know where we are. ❞
