“Yes, mine is what actual positive looks like and you’re is the weird twisted version.”
❝ you just don’t seem to like my versions of anything. ❞ then again, it was a rarity, but that was besides the point,
❝ especially these days. ❞
Ed didn’t move. She remained firmly fixed where she stood, praying he this wasn’t some cruel trick. She watched him suspiciously, her body still trembling. She was prepared to accuse him of mocking her for her foolish fear, however a particularly loud clap of thunder made her jump again, shrinking from the noise as she reached up to grip his wrist gently. She stiffened at the contact, shocked she’d done it herself.
Looking into his eyes as she tried to figure out what he was doing. Was he going to laugh and push her away, mocking her childish fear or worse, snap her neck. Not that she earned it, but he was who he was and she didn’t expect much more.
“Y-Yes, I do. W-What are you d-doing?”
She asked him, watching his expression closely. There was a look in his eye that was new to her and she really wasn’t accustom to. She hadn’t see that kind of look before, ever.
it would have been better if he stopped himself; prevented this from going any further than necessary, but instead, the demon pushed on further. to that point, his hand rubbed at her chin for a few moments,
❝ once upon a time, i could have anyone i wanted to, but the funny part of it is that i didn’t care. ❞ rather, he still didn’t care —- being with someone was complicated. even more so when one wrong action could destroy the other or cause everything to be destroyed,
❝ however, don’t think this means anything. ❞
❝ it doesn’t. ❞
“ Did you really think that I could CARE for you? At all?”
Oooooh she could come up with a list of things not to like. Not that she’d spent the following days after their last encounter doing that exact thing, but she could conjure a list if she needed to! Ed sighed from her hiding spot under the blankets before she sat up and pushed them off of her, fixing him with a smile that was forced, though she tried to make it seem real.
“Welcome to one of my many hotel rooms. Feel free to make yourself at home.”
His following words left her feeling guilty now. No, it wasn’t that she didn’t like him….per say. It was more….he made her nerves. Both thanks to her power to sense all of his power, the fact that she could make all of those worse, and thanks to the fact that….he just did. Ed was used to being nervous, but being nerves with no solid reason as to why was worse.
“What does it matter if I like you or not?”
She asked in honest curiosity. She hadn’t gotten the impression he cared what anyone thought.
“I doubt my preference on the subject really does anything.”
while i might not have mattered much to anyone if she liked him or not, the demon was at least attempting to be somewhat polite. usually, he would have started demands by now, but there was no use. not when it was quite clear by now that she was at least somewhat frightened of him.
fear could go far, especially when he pressed the correct buttons of a person; she was no different. a reason to why he was going to build up to it —- at least this time around,
❝ it matters due to the fact i might be here a while. ❞ by while he meant a few hours, but all the same, ky’lar was attempting to build up some form of trust —- even if it wouldn’t truly last,
